Police have arrested a Georgia teacher A south Georgia teacher is packing up her desk after surveillance video appears to show her knocking a special needs student to the ground in a school hallway. the special education teacher, Amelia Stripling, has resigned after the incident at Tift County Pre-K Center in Tifton on March 17. The police did arrest her, and the school reported her to Child Services and presumably prompted her resignation. Not that people should be commended for doing what they're supposed to do in the first place, but at least it looks liked they're trying to get it right here.

Naturally, there are people in the comments to the local news article excusing her: I mean, she's an old woman and it's only a little boy with a disability that she sent flying to the ground.
