Summary:

The study included 15 rabbits. 2 died from surgical trauma prior to the onset of the experiment as the injection proceedure was being refined. One more died for no discernable reason. 12 went on to be included in the study.

The rabbits were grouped into two categories, one with 100% active ingredient, and the other with an 80/20 mix of active ingredient and non-active ingredient.

All rabbits included produced normal sperm samples prior to injection. Every rabbit in the 100% group showed zero viable sperm in the samples afterwards, and only 1 rabbit produced any viable sperm in the 80/20 group, although that rabbit produced approximately 1/1235th of its baseline sperm. All other rabbits in the 80/20 group produced zero viable sperm.

No side effects directly related to the vasagel were observed.

Tl;dr: Seems like it's working pretty well with statistically significant results (p<.001), but more data are needed and an animal model closer to human may be wise. Tentative excitement.

and an animal model closer to human may be wise.

They're currently doing a baboon study. IIRC, the baboon study is raising reversability questions as the baboon vas are much more delicate than the rabbit vas.

Where did you hear this?

I'm a vaselgel backer. I've given them money. I got this in an email from them a while back:

"We suspect we simply haven't found a suitable large-animal model; for example the baboon vas deferens is smaller and more fragile than that of the human. We're cautiously optimistic that everything will be much easier in human trials, because the human vas is larger and sturdier. And we're hard at work trying some other things too. But in the meantime, the first clinical trial will be designed to include just men who aren't counting on reversibility, while we sort out those issues."

Hi Guy, you don't need to be a backer to get information, you can just sign up your email to get updates with them. You can select the criteria you want and I get literally only updates from them.

Most information on it can be found here https://www.parsemusfoundation.org/projects/vasalgel/vasalgel-updates-archive/

Better than that even, they're currently building up supply for trials and selecting sites, though it will be under the agreement that it may be permanent.

Looking good. Hopefully this will generate enough reason to do more testing and lead up to human trials.

Hmm, neat.

I'm excited about this, but the one I really want is the one that allows orgasm, but relaxes the muscle required for ejucatuation as I think it may help men to achieve multiple orgasms.

The one I'm talking about is a pill, and they wanted to try it on goats, because goats have large ejucations, but they couldn't get the funding for it.

I'd like to point anyone who doesn't know much about this to the Updates Archive they keep this pretty well updated when they have a new development. Only thing missing so far is this official release rabbit study.

Vasalgel was reversible after a year in rabbits, but as we've reported, reversibility has so far been elusive in large-animal studies. If you're waiting for Vasalgel, how important is reversibility for you?

The survey isn't inspiring.
