The feminist worldview is antithetical to love because its focus is solely on women: their needs, their wants, their desires, and their rights. Love can’t possibly be sustained with an attitude like that.

I think that sums it up quite nicely.

[–]TaycoFlayco 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Women can't expect everything out of a man, they don't have that ability, men and women should work together, not against each other

[–]SaudiMRA34 points 8 years ago* [recovered] (9 children) | Copy Link

If I understand this correctly:

  • FoxNews says men shouldn't date/marry female feminists.

  • Guardian says women shouldn't date/marry male feminists.

Seems to me everyone agrees that one shouldn't date/marry feminists (of either sex).

OK. I'm fine with this.

[–]goodbeertimes 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

Is that really (Saudi+MRA) and not some arabic name written in latin characters? You need Men's rights in Saudi Arabia?

[–]GothicDreamScape 12 points13 points14 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Men have it worse than women in Saudi Arabia. A huge part of their workforce is made up of male slave labor. Males have their genitals mutilated. Men are subject to conscription. Males are imprisoned if they fail to provide for their wives. Males are subject to much more violence. About a hundred men are beheaded for every woman. Men have a much higher suicide rate.

Not saying women have a great deal there, just that we tend to hyperfocus on areas where women are disadvantaged while ignoring the male side of the equation.

[–]Rethgil 4 points5 points6 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Exactly. All idiots see is "poor woman can't drive in foreign country/has to cover her body (in clothing that happens to be practical for the climate) etc" and they are instantly passionate feminists or white knight goon slaves for feminists.

Regardless of the complex realities and hard lives the men face over there, which make the womens lives look like a picnic.

[–]AloysiusC 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Do you have information/sources on that. Whenever I search for it, I just get reports on how bad women have it. Nobody even seems to ask how bad men have it.

[–]Rethgil 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Really...?

[–]AloysiusC 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yes. I am indeed asking for information. And downvoting that says a lot more about you than it does about me.

[–]Razorbladekandyfan 9 points10 points11 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Islamic countries are very gynocentric. Do you even care about anti-male discrimination if its not coming from Feminism?

[–]The_German_One8 points 8 years ago [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link

I may be not him, but I'd say you need Men's Rights everywhere MGM is practiced. Even though they may be better at other aspects, since they don't have a conscription or draft, at least according to Wikipedia.

Armed Forces of Saudi Arabia

The Royal Saudi Arabian Armed Forces (Arabic: القُوّات المُسَـلَّحَة المَلكيَّة السُّـعُوديَّة‎, translit. al-Quww?t al-Musalla?ah as-Su??diyyah‎) is the Armed Forces, consists of the Saudi Arabian Army, the Royal Saudi Air Force, the Royal Saudi Navy, the Royal Saudi Air Defense, and the Royal Saudi Strategic Missile Force.

In addition the Saudi Arabian National Guard (SANG), which is one of the three major branches of the Joint Forces of the Kingdom. The national guard is under the administrative control of the Ministry of National Guard, instead of the Ministry of Defence, the Saudi Arabian Royal Guard, and paramilitary forces.

Hey, women shouldn't have to do anything traditional.

Now get back to work. That's her dime you're wasting. Plus, she did all of that emotional labor during courtship so you owe her. Big time. So you might need to cook her dinner, change the sheets and vacuum the bedroom. She was too tired and sleepy after her hard efforts at self-actualization all afternoon. Which is when she was eating Cheez-Its and Fritos in bed, talking on the phone with friends and watching the soaps.

Emotional labor.

Bloomberg published just last week, married Americans are unhappier than ever? In my opinion, it is largely because there are so many women in America today who, either knowingly or unknowingly, have a feminist mind.

Their data is: Married couples are more unhappy.

Unfortunately, the Uncle Tims are often the ones who lose in the end because all too often feminist wives regret their choice to make their marriages androgynous

And that huffpost link:

Well, guess again. Fifty percent of marriages are still ending in divorce, and women continue to be the gender that initiates those endings.

Divorce rates are about the same, but women are initiating more of them. The article writer pulls "the feminization of men caused this" out of their ass.

Pretty weak links here. The original article and the one linked are both based on feelings and anecdotes, not data about the "feminization of men", no data on "men leaving feminist women", just stoking the feelings of the average guy here. Don't want a feminist/SJW wife? Don't marry one. If you think they are causing society's problems then you need better science to back it up. Unhappy couples and divorce rates tell you nothing of the causes. However, be the change you want to be, don't marry feminists.

[–]GothicDreamScape 4 points5 points6 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Well, feminists were the ones who destroyed the institution of marriage (tender years doctrine, primary custody laws, no fault divorce etc.), so that's certainly a causal factor.

In any case your last sentence is apt. I would go further: under no circumstances should a man even date a feminist. Talk about playing with fire.

[–]Rethgil 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I saw recent headlines in Left newspapers saying "men should not sleep with any woman who has had a drink".

Then I remembered that women are the biggest drinkers in Western countries now, with the fastest rising numbers of alcohol consumption.

So according to the Left themselves, that would mean they think we should go further, and not even approach women in general....?

Im only sort of joking... Just enough to make a point.

[–]BlindGardener -1 points0 points1 point 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Don't get drunk. Don't be around drunk people. Stay safe. Stay sober.

Don't get high. Don't be around high people. Stay safe. Stay sober.

Honestly, when I drink, which is rarely, I'm a 'one beer and I'll take an instant nap on your couch' sort, so I don't really understand the appeal. I drink a beer, or a glass of wine, I pass out, and I wake up with a headache.

[–]momandpopheir 31 points32 points33 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

...but the one area of the country they're scarce is in the South and the Midwest. Because that's where the real men live.

Okay, maybe there some good things in this article, but I'm gonna judge it based on that. It's garbage.

[+]ThatNinaGAL -8 points-7 points-6 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Such garbage. Give me a make-you-own-damn-lunch type over a Southern Belle any day, in terms of women I'd want my sons to try and build an honest relationship and happy life with.

[–][deleted] 11 points12 points13 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Give me a make-you-own-damn-lunch type

Yeah, no. How about the 'give or take, help each other out, be flexible, compassionate and caring' type that doesn't issue these kinds of edicts and demands because she's with someone just like her in sentiment?

[–]IronJohnMRA 8 points9 points10 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

In my opinion, it is largely because there are so many women in America today who, either knowingly or unknowingly, have a feminist mind.

Yeah, that's my opinion as well. Been saying it for years. Especially, the "unknowingly" part. Most AW don't call themselves feminists but are still following the feminist playbook perfectly without even realizing it. It's way past time they were called out. The more women that do it, the better. Thank you, Suzanne Venker.

[–]Rethgil 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

In my opinion, it is largely because there are so many women in America today who, either knowingly or unknowingly, have a feminist mind.

My God, so much this.

Been saying it forever. People often claim "numbers of women who call themselves feminist in the West are falling so it shows things are improving for men"-but each time Ive tried to say exactly what you were trying to say. It only proves that what used to be considered extreme feminist views have become taken as NORMAL views and accepted now, while modern feminists have gone even futher into crazy land.

It doesnt bode well for men. It shows how almost every woman demands and expects things that are feminist in origin.

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I didn't know the family court only rapes men who marry feminists!

[–]TheDongerNeedsFood 5 points6 points7 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

And I'm sure her husband totally oppresses her by paying the mortgage and all that crap as well.

[–]autotldr 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This is the best tl;dr I could make, original reduced by 88%. (I'm a bot)

Feminists teach women, above all else, to stand up for themselves against the evil men of the world.

My friend Helen Smith, Ph.D., refers to these type of men as "Uncle Tims" in her book "Men on Strike." An Uncle Tim is a male sellout who kowtows to feminists because he's just as left-wing as they are and thus agrees with the feminist worldview, or too weak to stand up for himself and knows that if he says anything he's not suppose to, he won't get sex.

We need real men who aren't afraid to stand up to feminist gobbledygook.

oh god are we looking at fox news articles again?

[–]Lethn 5 points6 points7 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

The fact is that Fox News are one of the few places even acknowledging this sort of thing as a problem. It's depressing and this is why I prefer to watch Joe Rogan and Sargon of Akkad, but they don't have the same reach television wise that Fox does.

[–]Rethgil 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Same goes for the Daily Mail in Britain. Generslly its a pretty awful crap hole-BUT it also dares publish stories that questions and criticizes feminism sometimes. And its only because it doesnt kowtow to the Left that it can do so without worrying about sales figures.

Its a ridiculous situation that mens rights stories are often shoved away in such places, and its this unspoken censorship and locking away of issues that matter to men that I genuinely think probably played a part in Trump beating Hilary.

Im not a fan of either, but I think the more you try to put tape over the mouths of hardworking men and treat them like scum, smear and belittle them, and the more you lock the truth away in places where people like Trump also live, the more inevitable it is people will push back equally as hard.

Comes down to the old thing of equal and opposite forces in nature. However hard something is pushed into a box is exactly how hard it will push back out of that box. Treat people like crap and theyll push back just as hard. Treat men with respect and equality, and listen to their concerns and theyll be perfectly reasonable human beings.

[–]Poke_uniqueusername 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

That can be true at times, but at others they are blatantly saying the wrong things about something thats already been reported on factually. I dont trust fox for any news whether it supports or is against what I believe in. I'd rather it not be reported on than to potentially have lies be spread. Same thing happens with the left. Personally I've generally just distanced myself from both sides of media and just compare what I see on reddit and check comments for primary sources if its actually important.

[–]Rethgil 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I try to do the same but let's be honest. Of course some writers will have anonymous sources we can't access. And to damn everything is throwing the baby out with the bathwater. Sifting truth from fiction is way too complex these days, that much is true.

But not everything from such sources is a lie. And the posters may have checked things themselves, just as you do, before choosing whether or not to cite them.

[–]Poke_uniqueusername 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

true, its just at this point I have no trust left in CNN or FOX after the countless amount of shit they've done to not earn my trust.

[–]Basilman121 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

In my opinion, it is largely because there are so many women in America today who, either knowingly or unknowingly, have a feminist mind.

I get what the author is getting at, but finances are also a huge deal. Families with unstable incomes can also have a large effect (also, debt). Both of which increased in recent years with the economic downturn. It's just a strong opinion that's assuming an association exists because of how they feel.

x/post from TD.

Why men dont marry feminists?

Because not every man is a ashamed of being male, is not a self loathing cuck, has a little pride and sees through the bullshit.

More men are waking up to these things. Too many are still asleep.

[–]harpsichordpurr 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This opinion piece is for very ~ basic people.

[–]joewhyit 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Hm. TIL “Uncle Tim” is a term.

Stealing it.

[–]ee4m -2 points-1 points0 points 8 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

This is only the american corporate media playing people off each other so we are distracted from real issues.

Like war, right wing economic policy making the rich very rich while we get poorer and so on.

The public have been totally diss-engaged from any sort of serious involvement in politics and economics.

Edward Bernays and the capitalist foundations that created gender studies have a large hand in this nonsense.

[–]AnnaEugenia -2 points-1 points0 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

As a feminist who enjoys reciprocal sex and is getting married shortly:

"Well alrighty then."

[–]marauderp 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Ahh yes, the typical feminist contribution to the conversation: "my anecdote means something, listen to me!"

[–]AnnaEugenia 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Shrug :)

I just enjoy checking in on the other side from time to time. I'm cool with being downvoted, just felt like pointing out the flaws in broad generalizations. I know your end of the spectrum disapproves when my end does the same.
