Great news!

Anyway to send donations?

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 10 years ago* (12 children) | Copy Link

Their donation page shows no earmark yet for the Men's Shelter Program, and I do not recommend donating until they update the page with an earmark for the Men's Shelter Program that guarantees the money will help boys and men, because we should assume they will use it for the women instead. I won't help women, but I'll help men. I left a message over the phone for them to update their earmarks for how we want our donations to be used to include the Men's Shelter Program, so I'll be keeping an eye on it for the change... then I'll donate.

Here is their donation page link so y'all can check for the earmark update: https://www.familyplace.org/donation/new-donation

Very good point.

Thanks for the info!

[–]The_Phasers 5 points6 points7 points 10 years ago* (10 children) | Copy Link

I won't help women, but I'll help men.

You may want to phrase this differently. I understand you want your donation to be earmarked for the men's shelter, but your wording here does not reflect that.

Edit: Perhaps "I won't donate until I can earmark my funds specifically for the men's shelter."

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points11 points 10 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

I refuse to help women.

I gladly help men.

Why would I word it any differently?

Is there some obligation for me to help women - other than being forced to at the point of a gun through the tax base - with my donations that I am unaware of?

[–]EcoPhyber 5 points6 points7 points 10 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

No, but it makes you sound like an unempathetic monster. Maybe something along the lines of "I want my money to go towards the men because their programs have been massively underfunded when compared with the women's" would sound reasonable.

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 10 years ago* (5 children) | Copy Link

It's true that I generally have no empathy for women outside of my family, but calling me a monster for not giving them my money goes beyond the pale in my opinion.

Far as I am concerned, I am one hell of a great guy for donating to help struggling boys and men.

Girls and women already get to much help as it is.

At least I am being honest about it instead of being a lying hypocrite of a poser like the jackholes here who are so damn scared of and concerned about how we are perceived. No matter how polite, accurate and honest we are, we're treated as the worst of the worst.

[–]EcoPhyber 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Fair enough, but it made you sound like the male version of that teacher who would only let the girls play w/ the Legos

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

There is a huge difference between public and private. For instance, I am under no Title IX or anti-discrimination requirements like that teacher is. I can discriminate against anyone I want, for any reason I see fit. Just like you can discriminate against women or men you don't find attractive or sexually appealing, or that jerk at the bar you don't want to be friends with. We all have our reasons for doing and not doing what we do and don't do. Morally, women should be left cold, homeless, hungry and abandoned for what they've done and allowed to be done to boys and men by their actions, inactions, decisions, choices, and votes. Just because some public servants made their choices legal is not relevant to me. They made the choices and they should be responsible and accountable for them. That's the cold, hard truth of the matter.

[–]EcoPhyber 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

You see you are doing it again. Homeless, hungry... really? Seems a bit extreme dont ya think? Most woman were passive when all these laws were passed, do they also deserve to be hungry? Do you also believe the same thing should have applied to the entirety of the German population after what happened to Jews, gays and gypsies?

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Name the women who have refused alimony.

Name the women who have refused primary child custody.

Name the women who have refused child support.

Name the women who have gotten off their asses to get a job instead of accepting welfare when they realized that they had to sign child support lawsuit paperwork in order to keep their welfare.

Name the women who oppose the exponentially lesser sentences for the same or greater criminality.

Name the women who oppose cops treating good boys and men more harshly.

Name the women who oppose a cop arresting men for the domestic/IP violence the women actually committed/started.

For brevity, I'll leave it there, but we could go on with the naming the women game for pages and pages.

do they also deserve to be hungry?

Only if they didn't worked to earn the food or money to buy the food... so long as the acquisition of food requires money and/or labor to provide.

Do you also believe the same thing should have applied to the entirety of the German population after what happened to Jews, gays and gypsies?

The entire German population didn't make the choices that women make which directly and negatively affected the jews, gays and gypsies. German voters didn't vote for candidates they knew would oppress jews, gays and gypsies in favor of the German voters.

[–]bakedpotato486 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That would be the case if it were the teacher bringing in her own legos only for use by the girls, because the boys already have their own set of legos.

[–]The_Phasers 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Why would I word it any differently?

Because you're coming off like the male version of a feminist extremist. The way you've phrased it sounds like you will never help any woman in any way, solely because they are a woman. That is not the point of the Men's Rights movement, and the way you've phrased it does not help the movement in any way.

I respect your not wanting to donate until you can have the funds earmarked specifically for the men's shelter. Frankly I agree with you, as I also believe the men's side of this is vastly underfunded. I however, do not agree with you wording this in a way that implies that you would never help a woman ever, regardless of circumstance. Furthermore, your wording it like you did gives those against the Men's Rights movement ammunition to use against the movement.

"Look at those men over there who refuse to give their hard earned money to us lazy female leeches and welfare whores! Just look a them! How DARE they keep what they earn!"

Yea... No... not giving one single fuck here.

I wouldn't piss on one of them to save their life if they were rolling around on the ground on fire in front of me. I'd simply watch them burn or walk away. That's what feminism has taught me. That's what women have taught me by the choices they continually make to the detriment of good boys and men.

If the truth and facts make us look bad, well that's just another day at the Men's Rights office, wouldn't you say?

Doesn't matter what we do or say. Mens Rights advocates have been trying to 40+ years and have gotten nowhere until we started being loud, angry and mean. Now we're getting lots of traction and you want to pretend to be nice to them and back off?

Fuck that. Push onward, brave men. Do not relent. Give no quarter. Tell it like it is and why it's this way. Tell them what they did to us and themselves in the process.

War is Hell.

[–][deleted] 12 points13 points14 points 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Is there any way to donate?

Also how long before it gets shut down by feminists for being 'sexist'

[–]LedZeppelin1602 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

First thing I thought of. Sad how being pro-men is inferred as being anti-women.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You advocate for the discussion of mens rights? Wow thats so sexist, you must be really sexist. Is the response i generally get.

[–]DoctorOsmium 4 points5 points6 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm praying that this doesn't get shut down by a wave of protests and condemnations from web pundits.

[–]baserace 4 points5 points6 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
