I think both genders arguing this are fucking stupid.
We objectify people daily. It's not wrong. Sometimes it's sexual, sometimes it's not. You go to McDonalds to buy your fatty McBurger, you give the cashier zero attention or thought aside from the automatic greeting and response thrown between you two and the order. You just objectified that cashier. And you aren't a bad person for doing so. That cashier's life, their goals, hopes, dreams, problems... none of that matters to you.
To you that cashier is there only to translate your order into the McDonalds system, process the exchange of funds, and get you your food. Well aren't you the fucking devil for not thinking to call that cashier up later that night and ask them how their day was? You piece of shit. You objectified a human being! Except it's not a big deal and no one gives a fuck. So why should we when it's about using someone's appearance (that they permitted by the way) to objectify them somehow?
Why is using a person to convey a message with their appearance wrong? Because they're more than that? Of course they are. Why does objectifying someone, even if for a second, somehow make you incapable of relating to them as a person at a later time?
I'm so tired of this argument from either side. I'm tired of women arguing about it as if they're the only ones objectified. I'm tired of men arguing about it because it's such a stupid fucking argument to begin with.
And honestly... with the problems that still exist for each gender, this is so low tier if it's to actually be considered an issue at all.
