Don't say your dog is a service animal when it isn't. Problem solved.

[–]TypicalNPC 36 points37 points38 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I suppose jet blue is supposed to issue an apology for upholding a rule that applies to literally everyone?

GTFO lmao

Either leave fido at home or don't fly at all.

You aren't special and neither is your dog.

What an entitled cunt. Its NOT service dog you stupid bitch

[–]bardownhalfclap 32 points33 points34 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

I will never understand people who have to take their pets fucking everywhere.

[–]BatsForCats 8 points9 points10 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Well admittedly having someone look after your dog for an extended period is very hard on the animals. Traveling with them is actually just the more pragmatic option.

[–]Individual451 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

My dogs hates long journeys more than anything else in the world (except maybe foxes)

[–]BatsForCats 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I don’t own dogs but have had to take care of my fair share over the years it’s always more of a hassle, animals go through withdrawal so having to spend hours with the animal to keep them sane is just very very taxing.

[–]sinteon 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

They shouldn't have a pet then.

[–]BatsForCats 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Are you a simpleton?

[–]moondogie 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'd you'd like, I'd be more than happy to give a perspective on that if you'd like in a more detailed reply.

I understand your opinion though. Though I wish parents could just kennel their kids. I've had to deal with so many little shits over the years. Rarely if ever had a bad experience with someone's dog. Usually makes the whole day better.

Just use a carrier and it would be allowed?

[–]DVVS1xxx 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

[–]Latter_Fox_41 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Too bad the dog wasn’t.

[–]WarAdministrative812 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Is a dog like that even capable of being service dog?

[–]RedditName3000000 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

"Emotional support"

Could you imagine trying to claim a twitchy Chihuahua as an emotional support dog? "Yeah...he reminds me that I'm not totally screwed up yet."

Why the fuck do you visit people that have covid?

[–]slide_into_my_BM 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

”it's the worst experience I've ever had”

Parents have COVID but her not being able to take her dog is the worst experience

[–]wooltown5653 points 4 years ago [recovered] (2 children) | Copy Link

Just put the bitch down. Then find a home for the dog.

Promoting violence is not okay here. Don't do it again.

[–]TearstheTiger 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I came to this sub specifically to shut this down. She took all the right steps, pre-approved her dog, and the airline shut her down with zero warning, last-minute, leaving her stranded with no option. This is at the very least horrible customer service.

[–]Azuzu88 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

It depends, from the statement made by the airline its possible that she was falsely claiming that the dog was a service dog. This would explain why he has been allowed to fly before and this time the cabin crew just dug a little deeper.

[–]TearstheTiger 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Non-service dogs are allowed on airlines, in general. No where in their written instructions here does it declare that you cannot bring a dog unless it’s a service animal.

https://www.jetblue.com/help/traveling-with-pets

It seems like she had her dog pre-approved, but they overbooked the flight and decided to boot hers off to keep it under the limit. That’s only my guess, but if that’s what happened I’d be pretty damn pissed as well.

[–]Azuzu88 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Unfortunately without a concrete reason given by the airline its hard to know. From that link there are some pretty extensive restrictions in place and she could have violated any one of them.

Of course, it wouldn't be the first time that an American airline has booted paying customers.

[–]Mark-Was-Here 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

service animals are allowed to fly, emotional support animals are no longer considered service animals and need to be officially registered as service animals in order to fly. if the dog was barking and acting up then it wasn't a service animal that's why the dog can't fly without being in a dog carrier and if it doesn't fit they can't fly with the dog

[–]SheetPope 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago* (4 children) | Copy Link

This isn't PPD. She got the dog pre-approved to fly beforehand, then the day of the flight they decided to remove it. That's pretty shitty of JetBlue, she did the right things and wasn't acting entitled

[–]doyouhaveanypaper 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I’m with you. At that point she had no reason to think her dog couldn’t fly. Did anyone actually read this article or are people just so hard up to see a hot woman get told no to?

Tack onto this thing that both of her parents had Covid and she has a right to have been distraught.

[–]Azuzu88 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I did read the article and even looked a bit deeper at the statement made by the airline. It looks possible that she got approval under the guise of him being a service dog but got caught out by the cabin crew. If true that's not only massive entitlement but actually illegal.

[–]Iamlegend_future 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It would still not be a ppd. At no point does her being a woman play a role.

[–]Mark-Was-Here 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

if it's not a service animal it needs to fit in a dog carrier if it doesn't fit in the carrier the dog can't fly this has nothing to do with jetblue regular regulations and emotional support animals are no longer a thing but that is not from the airline it is from the FAA

[–]resjohnny0 points 4 years ago [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link

The sub is just mean. She wasnt looking for special treatment or has entitlement issues. Her dog got unapproved.

[–]Azuzu88 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

She may have claimed that it was a service dog and got caught out, given the statement made by the airline.

[–]heckydern -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Way too much bullshit on the site.
