Still, as a college student, Jackie can't be entirely blamed for this catastrophe. As Ryan told the Washington Post, if anyone at Rolling Stone had ever bothered to contact him, he could have told his side of what happened, and most likely stopped this fabricated story from going to print.

I am relieved that it is not actually Jackie's fault at all. No sir. It is actually the fault of the men at Rolling Stone, and also Ryan, who just maybe could have tried harder to stop Jackie being exploited in this way.

In other news, Jackie has got married, so the story has a happy ending /s
