If we should say #BlackLivesMatter instead of #AllLivesMatter because black people are getting killed at higher rates, Why isn’t it ok to point out that black men are being killed at higher rates than black women?

A culture that respects women and men...by stoning adulterers? By treating women and some men as 2nd class citizen? Maybe honor killings are considered respectful because it has the word "honor" in it. There's always killing apostates and homosexuals...there's some respect for ya. Many "moderate" islamists may not engage in these types of horrible avts but they do believe these acts are justifiable when others do them.

[–]icefire54 4 points5 points6 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yes, women are 2nd class citizens. Forget about the men who die at a much higher rate and face many other issues.

[–]Lethn 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

This is the problem when we talk about the middle east, the only people I have seen out there that actually genuinely respect women and fight for equal rights, quite literally, are the Kurds.

I want to believe you OP but there's so much fucking evidence to the contrary that only a moron would trust them. Any other country or region it wouldn't be a fucking problem, but the moment anyone from the middle easy comes out and say this it's like there are several fucking guys with AK's ready to prove the exact opposite.

Of course when this happens, complete radio silence from the people that were trying to defend themselves, if these people truly don't believe this then they're either going to have to abandon their religion, or if they're not willing to abandon it, have a revolution as other religions have had.

Forget about Christians, every other religion out there knows now that this kind of shit does not fly with the rest of the civilised world, they know when they've crossed a line but Islamists just seem completely unable to switch off this psychopathic behaviour and attack anybody that criticises them for it.

[–]franklindeer 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

The Kurds also ritualistically circumcise women. Granted they circumcise men as well so they're equal opportunity offenders but they're not exactly the most enlightened culture on the planet either.

[–]192873982 5 points6 points7 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The US circumcises men, so there's that.

[–]Lethn 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Didn't know that actually, scratch that one off the list lol but you're right at least they're equal in their offenses, that being said, their region is a lot less chaotic than others ad people generally live peacefully as well as multiple cultures or religions so I'm kinda mixed about all that.

Certainly would rather the kurds over ISIS or the Taliban lol, maybe we could turn them around on the circumcision thing.

So in other words feminists have gone too far in blaming men. But they're RIGHT and have your full backing if they would just turn their hatred over to Muslims? Sad, sad state of affairs. Historically the oppressed always end up oppressing a new generation. You want to be part of that then go ahead. It wont change the way feminists treat you.

[–]Lethn 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's not what I said at all, don't just make shit up.

[–]Rethgil 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Oh stop spreading stupid old stereotypes.

[–]ghebert001 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Being a stereotype doesn't make it untrue. Do we have to "#notallmuslims" before saying anything about them or can we just agree that there are rules and exceptions to the rule are a given?

[–]Penuno 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Are you serious? 5000 honor killings a year almost exclusively by Middle Easterners either in their home countries or in the West.

That's not a stereotype. That's a fact.

[–]FromTheFarSouth[S] 7 points8 points9 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Not all Syrians are muslims. A lot of Syrians and Middle Easterners migrated to my country (Chile) during the first half of the 20th Century and most of them were Christians. Their descendants are very powerful and influential in the Chilean society.

I posted this article because I think we shouldn't lump all male refugees together as if they were the same. In the same way North American feminists demonize white men, European conservatives demonize men from the Middle East and North Africa.

[–]Trail_of_Jeers 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Taqiyya.

[–]Rethgil 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Happy to see someone making rational point about race instead of the usual attempts here to pass blame for sexism onto foreigners. We are doing ourselves no good and storing problems for the future by conflating xenophobia and feminist extremism. They are seperate things and Im sick of people using this site to basically say 'feminists are wrong, us white men aren't sexist.... But THOSE foreigners over there are'.

[–]richardnorth 3 points4 points5 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Logic that says dont judge a group by actions of a few still (inconveniently) applies: if a handful of people hand out fliers, it doesnt mean they represent their entire group. Just sayin

[–]192873982 2 points3 points4 points 10 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link

All the reaction letters of Syrians I read are very implausible.

Perfect German language is not what they can do. I believe that leftists initiated these letters because they fear racism, the Syrians might just have tagged along, since it helps them and doesn't take any effort.

Because of it's history, Germans fear nothing more than being racist. That's because they didn't learn the right things in their history classes. The problem in WW2 was not that it was right-wing or racist, the problem was that people stopped thinkiong for themselves and let themselves being manipulated. The problem is that they trusted the media to show the truth about themselves, which no media ever does.

[–]ee4m[🍰] 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago* (13 children) | Copy Link

They have interpreters to help refugees.

And also there will be plenty of Syrian ex pats in Germany that speak German.

The problem with ww2 germany was demagoguery and fearmongering - demonizing and scapegoating whole groups.

For example. some jewish families have control over the money supply (Rothschild family) - Hitler said it was all Jews that were the problem.

Pretty much what you are doing in the case of muslims.

This sort of thinking is a right with thing and a left wing thing.

[–]Rethgil 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Well said. Extremism gets us absolutely nowhere. Though the rich usually find a way to profit from things.

[–]ee4m[🍰] 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Cheers :)

[–]192873982 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

Hitler not only said that it was all the jews, he said it's their biologic nature, which is much worse. He did however make some jews honorary aryans, which is kinda funny and strange.

However that was by far not the only problem.

Fearmongering is a problem, but it is basically the same problem when you prevent fear when fear should be present, since fear is a natural and neccessary reaction. The more general problem is therefore the disparity between what people perceive and what really is the case. This is however only one form of manipulating media, or in another word propaganda.

And about the interpreters: Refugees usually don't follow the local media, because they can't understand the language, and interpreters won't read the newspaper to them. I don't say it's staged, but I am very sceptic about it. Never trust when there is a political agenda someone pursues.

[–]Rethgil 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Dumb, dumb, dumb. Your basic logic is 'dont take that extremist view, take THIS one instead'. Extremes are the problem. Drawing conclusions based on extreme opposites to what you percieve is just as useless and dangerous.

[–]192873982 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Except that I didn't write that... I didn't propose a extremist view, I proposed that people should be sceptical.

[–]ee4m[🍰] 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

You are fearmongering.

You are trying to say its all muslims and apology is staged.

[–]192873982 -1 points0 points1 point 10 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

I'm not fearmongering, I just know out of experience that a lot of people in Germany (but especially the media) love to cover stories up that could lead to people having bad opinions on foreigners, because they believe they are fighting racism by that, which they perceive as a heroic deed. I don't believe either side, as long as I have no further information. However I think it shows a lot of signs of non-foreign initiation, but I won't jump to conclusions, since I am aware that I see wage signs.

[–]ee4m[🍰] 5 points6 points7 points 10 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Prior to US intervention. Syria was a moderate country with good education standards.

Its likely that the overwhelming majority of the 1.1 million muslim refugees are appalled by what happened in Cologne (carried out members of their criminal element, which every group has).

News of what happened in Cologne would have spread like wildfire among them, regardless of language barriers.

It's more likely that some of them got together and made this letter happen.

[–]192873982 -1 points0 points1 point 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I think a initiation by German leftists is very likely.

And don't get me wrong. I think this is completely independent on the opinions of Syrian people. I don't think Syrians are bad people or anything, it's just that my experience tells me that this is too unusual and therefore I believe that the likelihood of leftist initiation is higher than the likelihood of self-initiation. Whenever a group apologized in the media for anything, it had a completely different vibe, and this just feels off, but I may be wrong. But if I am right, I don't blame Syrian people for not apologizing, but I blame the initiators for lying. I don't like to be lied at, and it just feels to me that something is not right. I don't have evidence, it's just my guts, and I also don't blame Syrians, even if I had evidence.

[–]ee4m[🍰] 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Your own biases are telling you are likely being lied to by leftists.

[–]192873982 -1 points0 points1 point 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Maybe they are biases, but maybe not.

I will just wait if what I think is true, but most likely we will never hear about this again, so it's useless to discuss anyway.

I don't know if I am biased here, but I am sceptic about myself if I don't have overwhelming evidence, so there is no problem.

[–]Rethgil 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Far bigger and more powerful mainstream media tells us hateful things about foreigners, yet you claim the opposite. Just cos Greenpeace or comparatively small media outlets compared to Fox, The Sun etc say something different, you focus on them and claim THEY represent the majority view. Ludicrous.

[–]192873982 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I don't know where you live, but where I live, the media is HEAVILY in favour of immigration, multiculturalism and all other kind of leftist ideas. And since I know close to Germany, and sometimes read German news, I know that German media is even more in favour of all that stuff. So fuck off with your judgement of German media based on your consumption of US media.

[–]rg57 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The reports said none of the attackers were even from Syria. How can they apologize for something they didn't even do?

Don't apologize. Assimilate into the German culture. Discard the one that failed you.

[–]ee4m[🍰] 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link

Many muslim guys are brought up with the following beliefs.

Women are the gatekeepers of sex, women who don't gatekeep well enough deserve punishment and women are basically like a property - going out at night and not covering up is seen as like leaving your doors and windows unlocked.

Men always want sex (this is because sex is so thin on the ground due to excessive pressure on women to gatekeep).

Women that do not gatekeep are perceived as asking for it, and so in some peoples minds that means its more okay to sexually assault women that go out at night, don't cover up and have casual sex.

*feminists have dubbed this set of beliefs "rape culture".

That's basically what's behind this.

[–]Rethgil 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Wheres your source for such extreme views on millions of people?

[–]ee4m[🍰] 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Islam and Sharia law?

Ive lived in the mid east for a year.
