Context: ENEM (Exame Nacional do Ensino Médio, roughly translated as High School National Exam) is a test undertaken by almost every student finishing high school intent on getting into college. It's comprised by 180 questions plus a short essay on a given theme that changes every year according to whatever is getting more vibe in the country (and, to a lesser extent, worldwide).
Apparently, this year's theme was "violence against women", as stamped all over the media here. They wanted the student to propose a measure that could be taken to reduce the cough alarmingly high cough numbers of female victims of domestic violence other than the already existing laws upheld. And, what was strangely unusual, it didn't accept dissenting opinions. Meaning, if I were a student undertaking that test, I would most likely fail the WHOLE SHIT if I brought up the numbers of battered husbands, cuckolded men with children who are not their own, fathers being denied custody over not having a vagina, men tricked into paternity by having their sperm stolen and a myriad of issues that are just as important as violence against women.
EDIT: One of the teachers who were asked about how having a dissenting opinion would not be possible, he replies that it's a good way to filter who gets to enter colleges and who do not: "It's a theme that helps building the profile of who actually gets to enter good public universities, a future thinker". I think I'm going to cry.
