I'm thinking of starting a MRA club at my high school. What are some good statistics, pictures, videos, and other media that I can show at the first meeting, and use to promote the club?

I started an MRA society at my university. At school, girls have even less of a nuanced understanding of feminism and gender equality so let me tell you what will happen to you:

You will be told to go join the feminist group because both goals are gender equality so it's pointless to have two groups. Protestation that you disagree with feminist theory will get you nowhere, or it will get you punished, i dunno what your school is like.

If you are allowed to have a society, any girl that has read any dumb article they found on social media will accuse you of being a misogynist. do not underestimate how tribalistic this will get, you're at school, you're not going to be able to have mature discussions. The girls will see it as an us v them thing. Think about it, from a young age we've been told women are oppressed and disadvantaged, i believed this myself at school age, coming out with the classic 'people who criticise feminism just don't understand feminism'. In fact, it was only when i came to understand feminism that i became an antifeminist.

Basically, good luck, but at the school level, you're fucked. you'l get dumb guys joining just because they hate feminism and the idea that women should have rights (these people do exist, my brother is one of them), you'll have some people who actually understand your points, and the rest will see your club as a patriarchy club.

Do it, but seriously, do not underestimate the backlash you get from questioning feminism publicly. It's huge. the culture of conformism is incredibly stifling even on a university campus, i can't imagine what it;s like in a school, which is a much more controlled environment.

but seriously, do not underestimate the culture of feminist conformism. it stretches further than you imagine and they actually are immune to logic. it doesn't matter how logical your points are, they will not work. give it a go and see. seriously, it's an amazing phenomenon. I once told a feminist that RAINN debunked the idea of rape culture and sent them a link to the article. she then turned round and said 'no but rainn really do believe in rape culture because (insert feminist bullshit here)'. She read the article, denied reality, and came back with a statement that is the polar opposite in truth to what i said. That is how retarded feminists can be, be prepared. they are indoctrinated. persuade observers, not feminists.

also, something i'm learning myself, is chill you shit. Notice the scathing tone and use of the word retarded in what i just wrote. Clearly, i get angry when people say dumb shit, especially when it's feminist dumb shit. So i get lured into online debates easily, and i tend to be quite condescending when i do. this is a problem. i don't think about how it will be received (with hostility, because i basically attack the other person with facts, as opposed to pussying up my language a bit). so basically, when writing things online on a fb comment, or in real life, don't be an asshole to the person you're conversing with. this is something i struggle with enormously, but it's really useful. If people see you as hateful, they will be put off. if people see you as welcoming, they'll come. i fucked up a bit by absolutely destroying some idiot on an event i made, and people now see me as someone who is very angry and opinionated. They also ignore the fact that I am correct, and bitch at me for 'criticizing feminism, which isn't meant to be the point of the group!!' which is a fair judgement to make from my comments. Don't make that same mistake.

You'll get people saying 'i want to help men, this society/ group shouldn't be about criticising feminism'. This is fucking annoying because it posits that you literally can't even question feminism, even though need to do that to solve a lot of men's issues. you need to break down the idea that only women are victims. but you can't do that without criticising feminism. as soon as you do that, you're an evil misogynist.

i had no idea that fighting for men's rights would be this hard, really, but feminism is a power much stronger than any patriarchy could ever be.

Pick an issue that is relevant to the student body, have a narrow focus and stick with it.

Circumcision, Divorce laws, etc aren't relevant to most of the student body.
Having a general MRA club can work against you. You'll spend your valuable time on issues few can relate to.

If you're on your own, I'd suggest keep your focus narrow and consider something like the "Education System and Boys". (Actually this topic alone is fairly broad and you probably will have to narrow it further.) Anyway, you should ask Is the system helping or hurting boys? Which boys and in what ways? etc. Start off small, like if you were writing a report. Get people to "buy in" by asking their opinions.

Start collecting statistics: Graduation rates, drop out rates, number of boys continuing to tertiary education, suspensions/expulsions, medication rates, etc. This will help you gain credibility when you try to address some of these issues.

Be open minded and follow the data. Feminist groups assume that girls are discriminated against and just run with that narrative often ignoring the data or worse making up questionable data to prove their narrative. You'll see them hold bake sales where they sell cookies to girls for 77cents and $1 to boys. Inflammatory but very thin on substance. Don't do that. Don't be an MRA simply to counter the feminist narrative. Be an MRA to help boys and men succeed.

Alternatively, if you have resources you can consider creating a support group for boys. You can provide a list of scholarships available to boys and workshops on how to apply for these scholarships. You can create a "buddy group" where you pair boys that are succeeding at school with boys that aren't. etc.

TL;DR Don't create another protest group. The world has enough of those. Create a group to help boys succeed at high school. This will keep it relevant and make it successful.

I honestly wouldn't go to deep. You just want to campaign for equal consideration of the population.

Circumcision is a really hot button issue, but single dads is a much more relevant topic for most people. Focus on the lack of educational emphasis for boys, stuff like that.

Highlight inequalities, but mostly try and just shed some light. If you can reach out to other young men struggling under the pressures of society and just let them know that they don't need to fit in a specific box to be a man, you'll have people willing to fight the legal injustices as an adult.

Perhaps the upcoming 'Red Pill' documentary that is currently on Kickstarter will be a great list of topics and sources, because that is something that is really lacking within this movement. A comprehensive list of issues and sources displayed in a clear and easily located manner.

I recently came across this video that is a response to someone calling out the men's rights movement, but I thought it did a great job of covering a wide range of topics in a clear and well underbuilt manner. Should just join femminist club and push your men rights agenda there. MRA club will get a lot of backlash as other people commented.

There shouldn't be anything stopping you from speaking about men's rights at a femminist club.
