It's okay for men to stay and be slaughtered by ISIS but not women and children.

I'm getting a bad feeling that she didn't say anything to the guy in person and had to "vent" about it later on her FB, even more so because she was mad about herself not speaking out.

I don't agree with what the man said, but to blow it out of proportions like this is as much of a damaging behaviour example to the little girl as what that guy said/did. Because being a drama queen is also not a really desirable trait for a person to have.

But then again, I kind of see why the mother did all this. It's quite hard to see your children get hurt, especially if you're not capable of dealing with the incident like a grown-up. Bottle it up in real life and vent on FB is a bad way to go about it and I have a feeling this is what happened here.

It's all part of the maintenance of the "women are victims" narrative which allows women to lead hypoagency-ridden passive-aggressive low stress lives. I'm sure at this age boys get smacked around just as much by girls, but noone goes on facebook and makes a political statement about it.

She seems to be doing a lot of damage control on behalf of the boy, the hospital, and the employee.

Move along. There's better fights to choose.

I agree with her. The old trope of "boys hit girls that they like" seems to be enforcing a stereotype of boys hitting girls and only that direction, not the other way around, while as someone working with children, I see equally much hitting and kicking and other physical altercations going both ways between the kids.

But you do never (at least I don't) hear someone explain away a girl hitting a boy with the gir just fancying the boy. But you do hear it when boys hit girls, which on impressionable minds might inprint the idea that males express love violently.

I am not saying that the boys are going to somehow think they was in love nor that its teaching them to be violent, but it might very well inprint that idea into the minds of the girls.

As a child my family moved often for work. I was the new boy in class more times than I care to count. I had many little girls hurt me. They might have used words or been physical but one thing was constant. If I tattled on them at home or at school, I was told that they actually liked me. I remember being told "that is how girls act if they like you". This happened over and over in different cities and different states.

Ah, might be a cultural thing. I never really seen it applied to girls hitting boys here in Denmark. Or maybe I just have happened to have missed that.

This certainly could be the case. Or things might have changed over the years. I am talking about events that took place 25+ years ago.
