From a finance perspective this is not a big deal. Currently savings accounts are worth less than shit. I put my excess cash in a cash brokerage account and buy stocks with it. But I keep 10k in my checking.

That's not all that surprising. What's surprising is that women are twice as likely (60+%) to be carrying a credit card balance than men are (30%), and that whenever I read an article about this, the rationale for why this occurs is typically "pay gap", as if women have to offset that horrible, horrible discrimination with discretionary spending to keep up and it's all men's fault they carry a balance.

I just leave all of mine in my checking account. A little over four thousand but its going to drop a good bit to get a new fuel pump for my car.
