Because Paul Elam has become delusional believing, for instance, that there are only about 300 "real" MHRAs world-wide (excluding India) and that 1/3 of these are working for AVFM. He goes out of his way to antagonise people including MRAs.

/u/ee4m I'm on board with you here. I really would like to know precisely why avfm is losing visitors, although there are a couple of obvious answers. One being the cancelling of ICMI '15 and the other being Dean Esmay leaving AVFM. The latter of those seems a little weak as an explanation, and the former looks like it might be enough to explain it. Not really sure.

As far as AVFM having done the most for our movement, I agree wholeheartedly. Before AVFM, there was Angry Harry and a bunch of scattered sites. There was really no reason for anyone to take men's rights seriously. Since AVFM has come into existence, we've been viewed as extremists by the media. Since we're really not extremists, and anyone can see that just by looking at avoiceformen.com, this kind of exposure can only benefit us - and no, I don't think it's really fair to even call AVoiceForMen.com 'radical'. They certainly stretch the Overton window, but it's a gentle stretch, and the Overton window is currently off close to the 'misandric extremism' end of the spectrum.

Also, if you look at the alexa site ranking graph for AVoiceForMen.com you can see that visitors to avoiceformen.com dipped around october and reached a minimum around january. That minimum is around where the rankings are currently. Based on this it's fair to conclude that some but not all of AVFM's dip in the rankings could be cyclical. It would be nice to know what's responsible for the cycle. Perhaps Valentines day is some kind of 'equinox' or 'solstice' of bad break ups. If that were true I'd expect AVFM to get its best business around spring or summer - much as the stock market and most businesses also do.

Personally I believe it is a missed opportunity. We should be reaching out to those who might share some aspects of our views but disagree with fundamentally on others. Otherwise it is just an echo chamber. Preaching to the choir. It may be a challenge but it may be more productive than trying to debate or convince a radical feminist. The potential benefit could be huge. Only by uniting and working together can we achieve anything anyway.

The same reason any publication loses ratings.

Write articles nobody has an interest in and they won't click or repost it around the web.
