She explicitly states here

I had to put my own safety in danger to protect that girl.

So she shouldn't have to put her safety in danger but a man should have to do so to protect the women?

Welcome to equality. Men having been "putting themselves in danger" to "protect girls" since we climbed down from the trees. Why is this woman perpetuating toxic gender roles? She should be glad that the men behaved more like women, and that she was able to take on a masculine role.

even before we left the trees (3-4 million years ago), females would have been protected.

since then we have learned to verbalize a great many things, such as this article illustrates,,,what this article also illustrates is the authors apparent desire to return to the proto human troupes where the females were protected.

Here's her response on Facebook to a comment from a woman who related her own story of regret for not stepping in to stop violence because she was afraid:

Thanks (redacted). I get why you feel that regret but it's completely understandable why you didn't intervene there, when you have little reason to believe you could end that violence, and when you have good reasons for believing that they would turn on you too. Just because it might be admirable to intervene in a certain situation doesn't mean that it is wrong not to.

So she's cool with it when women don't intervene but guys always should.

I intervened when I was a teen and the woman told me to mind my own business so I learned a good life lesson at an early age.

I'm more afraid now that the woman in distress will make false accusations towards me.

At least the comments are hopeful. They said she should of press the emerngcy buttom(yellow strip) or basically call the cops. Stop expecting strangers who could be sued or arrested to interfere with an unstable person. I guessing in Canada cops have to actually respond unlike here in America.

I guess she missed the irony that she and the crazy guy both agree that men are needed to protect women from other men.

Currently the top Reddit comment:

When someone is HARASSING AND FOLLOWING a person, hit the fucking yellow strip. Hit it hard. That's what it's there for.

ROFL!! activate the train's emergency brakes because some woman's feelings are being hurt? SJW twats never cease to amaze me. Just call the commuter cops like a normal person, you wanks.

You know, the crazy guy does make some good points. We all like a nice ass, but the spandex shit is getting out of control in our society in my opinion. People wear them all the time everywhere they go, in nearly every social context. Any suggestion of modesty is met with the retort that men need to control themselves and women can dress how they want, "for themselves", always, be it elementary school or on the job.

[–]HotZone_ 5 points6 points7 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I welcome spandex and leggings. But it's just dishonest to claim that teenage boys who can barely go five minutes without getting a hard-on won't be severely distracted by sexy clothing.

Speaking from my own experience -- I did well in school but didn't learn much in the classes -- I was too busy admiring the females in my immediate vicinity.

"Spandex: It's a privilege, not a right."

I noticed that too plus the yoga pants and yoga tops everywhere to tease and rub it in our eyes and for women to have ammunition to tell us not to look.

Worse are the impotent white knights who take the exhibitionists' defense.

I got a load of shit from a date once who thought I was looking at a woman breastfeeding in front of me as we were sitting in a public place and I didn't even notice her till I got shit for supposedly looking.

(sorry for rambling but it's a relief to read another guy noticing the hypocrisy of how women dress)

I feel bad for the woman that she couldn't or was unwilling to defend herself and that someone else felt the need to assume ownership over her.

Women are not the common property of males - they are free and with that freedom comes obligations and responsibilities.

It's nice to see that somebody came to her aid but it's a shame that somebody felt that men were obliged because of penis to be the one to do it.
