Say what you will about the daily mail readers, the fact that a lot of the images were all of girls didn't slip past them, looks like they swiftly disabled the comments page because of that.

Just out of curiosity:

How do the A-levels work?
I saw a "boys got a 8% approval, girls, a 7.4 (or 7.something)" I assume it means that a certain grade guarantees entrance to university, and 8% of the boys that tryed got it. How did boys fare in absolute numbers? Did more boys get into university? Or did less boys do the exam?

Statistically, aren't don't women more often qualify? This is kind of like complaining that 51% of people on television and movies aren't women. Accept in the first case, it's actually merit based.
