Because he's a man, and men are vile by default.

Prosecutorial bias turns the law into an instrument of tyranny. Legislators have already determined the public interest, rightly or wrongly. Laws must be applied impartially.

So a child was proven raped beyond doubt in a civilized western country and authorities are not prosecuting the raper because it is not "in the public's interest?". Seems we were wrong - there is such a thing as rape culture.

The grooming is irrelevant. She raped him and the evidence (the child) is irrefutable.

More accurately, "the public isn't interested". When it's a man raping a girl, the public is interested, so they throw the book at him.

Good luck to Joshua Jeffrey, hope he doesn't have to end up sending his rapist half his paycheck each month.

I get the sense that citizenship is a two-tier system in the UK -- high-caste citizens are the females, and low-caste citizens are the males.
