Hardly a shocker when you have ministers saying women shouldn't be punished for crime ever and that all female prisoners should be released.

Yeah...it's rather sad when a desire to keep women out of prisons is seen as more important by society than a desire to protect young boys from being raped.

It's quite literally saying that young boys have absolutely no right to be protected by society. If they can't protect themselves from being molested, then they must deserve to be molested, right? After all, it's "not in the public interest" to intervene and protect them.

Exactly. I even remember a video where Tucker Carlson said that a 15-year-old boy was wrong to "tattle" to the police about a teacher who statutorily raped him and ruined her life. Can you imagine the outrage of such a statement if the genders were reversed? I am afraid that at every age, boys and men are far less protected than girls and women. Even when it comes to infant genital mutilation (circumcision). So much as a tiny pinprick on the female genitalia is considered severe sexual assault, a human rights violation, and those found guilty can be improsoned for years. Male genital mutilation on the other hand isn't just condoned, it's encouraged with pseudoscience and lies about how it is a surgical vaccine that will protect everyone from cancer and stds. In reality, however, male genital mutilation in the U.S. is a multi-million dollar a year industry where the stolen foreskin is used in cosmetic anti-wrinkle face creams for older women. Imagine that, over 200 baby boys die every year in the U.S. alone as a result of this disgusting practice and it would appear as though society cares more about the vanity of wrinkly old women looking younger than the lives, safety, and well-being of boys and men. For this reason and more I have a very hard time trying to believe how people believe that men have more rights and power than women in the U.S. and the world at large.

Yes there's no public interest in locking up a rapist.... one might even be tempted to call that "rape culture" but "anti-male culture" seems more accurate.

Yeah its especially sad given the specifics of this case. The victim wasn't borderline aged like 15 or 16. He was a fucking 13 year old kid who would be in middle school. On top of that she knew him since he was 7 and he was living with her. She absolutely groomed him and molested/raped him repeatedly. Worst of all there's 100 percent irrefutable evidence of her guilt. They have DNA proving he fathered her child when he was 13 years old. There's no way to wiggle out of that. The proof of her guilt is her own kid.

I think the term pussy pass gets thrown around too easily, but I don't know what to describe this as other than a pussy pass. There is no chance man wouldn't be prosecuted in a situation where there's irrefutable DNA evidence that he impregnated a 13 year old girl. The only way he wouldn't get prosecuted would be if there was some conspiracy where he paid off the prosecutor's office.

Then why is it in the public interest to put Rolf Harris in jail?

Because he's a man, and men are vile by default.

Prosecutorial bias turns the law into an instrument of tyranny. Legislators have already determined the public interest, rightly or wrongly. Laws must be applied impartially.

So a child was proven raped beyond doubt in a civilized western country and authorities are not prosecuting the raper because it is not "in the public's interest?". Seems we were wrong - there is such a thing as rape culture.

Is there a better source for this?

[–]xynomaster[S] 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Unfortunately, no. After reading that CPS were "looking into" the decision not to bring charges, I tried to find an update, but couldn't find any other article on the topic.

Don't take this the wrong way, but from mirror.co.uk I'm not going to take this as fact

[–]stemgang 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The grooming is irrelevant. She raped him and the evidence (the child) is irrefutable.

[–]chocoboat 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

More accurately, "the public isn't interested". When it's a man raping a girl, the public is interested, so they throw the book at him.

Good luck to Joshua Jeffrey, hope he doesn't have to end up sending his rapist half his paycheck each month.

That's a pretty tawdry tale of serial deception and self-gratifying manipulation on the part of the woman.

But I'm confused because women are disempowered victims of men. How puzzling.

I get the sense that citizenship is a two-tier system in the UK -- high-caste citizens are the females, and low-caste citizens are the males.

Of couurse not, why should a woman be held accountable for her actions?
