Hey there, I'm a sociology student, male and female rights activist and a firm believer in gender equality. I have to do a project for college and I chose to do it about whether there is a relation between partner violence and sexism. For that purpose, I need to provide a theory or theoretical framework that allows me to define sexism. There are many of those but most are based on feminist theory, something with which I do not agree since it tends to forget about discrimination suffered by men. Like I said, the important thing would be to define a person's way of thinking as "sexist". My personal point of view is that considering any differences between males and females is sexist (For example, I would consider just as sexist to say that a woman has the right to hit a man than to say a man has the right to hit a woman)

The important thing is that this theory must consider male privilege as well as female privilege.

Does anyone know of such a theory?
