So I just heard Charlie's Soap unironic "mansplaining" commercial on the radio. Can't believe this actually exists.

I've seen this commercial several times during the New Years celebration. 2016 has potential.

Behold, someone worth easily 100 million dollars, in her 30s, complaining that movie studios are "making her" leave her home, "making her" work long hours, and not paying for her childcare for her.

Her children are the most fortunate children on the Earth they will never anything but a life of opulence and luxury, and this Stupid Lucky Rich Girl, who gets paid to pose scantily clad on the cover of magazines, complains she is being mistreated. She is worth an obscene sum of cash, purely for two reasons - she can recite her lines on time, and she is a hot looking piece of ass - and she complains of mistreatment.

And those private jets the male stars get?

You don't think she's not getting the private jet, the yacht, the phat penthouse, do you? She didn't say female stars don't get private jet rides, yacht and phat penthouse stays, bought and paid for while they work on catered movie sets, fawned upon by assistants and aides, did she? She just complained that she has to pay a nanny.

Her poor children have to stay on a yacht while she's doing film shoots, after being flown in a private jet, and she has to pay for a nanny!

Oh! The Humanity!

(I fucking HATE Hollywood feminists.)

If you read the article, she's also the kind of cunt who demands special treatment because she starred in a role, in a movie that cost $200 million give or take, with pre scheduled hotels, staff, permits, etc. But she wasn't supposed to be preggo during that time.

Apparently hundreds (at the very least) of people need to change their lives and schedules, because of her. And she's the one being oppressed for not getting her way.

I need feminism because the world won't stop to revolve around me.

[–]pnw_diver 6 points7 points8 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I couldn't stomach that much of the article. Let me get this straight - the princess got pregnant during a film shoot and then expected the whole schedule and operation to shift to suit her?

OK, I get it:

" ... "I was like, 'Oh, my God, are you kidding me? It's this bad?'" she added. "Right when I just feel super-duper happy, is that inconvenient for you? That me, as a woman in my thirties, I finally am in love and I am finally starting my life? And it's [screwing] your schedule up? Really?" ..."

Yes. Unbelievable. She was being paid an obscene sum of money to be available intensively to work over a period of a year, and she decided to fall in love and get pregnant and expect her contractual obligations to just stretch to accommodate her because she is a woman in her 30s now.

Wow. So self indulgent!

[–]Qui-Gon_Booze 3 points4 points5 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Yeah. It's pretty hard to feel any form of sympathy for anyone who makes more money in a few months than I will (probably) ever see in my life... Especially when they're complaining about being "forced" to do something literally hundreds of millions of people have to do every day.

I'd be surprised if she cooks her own food.

[–]pnw_diver 10 points11 points12 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This woman, her husband, and children, are without any doubt attended by a full staff of servants including a cook. Her complaint is on par with Hillary Clinton claiming that the Clintons were "broke" when they left the White House.

[–]ashlaaaaay 5 points6 points7 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well, that's the entitled feminist mindset for ya

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I agree with everything you said, but $100 million seems a little high.

[–]ThePigmanAgain 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's what i thought until Qui-Gon_Booze pointed out she was the female lead in Avatar. Such big movies usually pay the leads a percentage of the gross. If she got even just 5% of 2 billion that's 100 million right there, far as my lousy math takes me.

[–]dangerousopinions 15 points16 points17 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

She's a millionaire, she can afford her own child care or negotiate it into her compensation. It's also not a fact that male stars as a rule are receiving anything female stars aren't. That's just a claim without any evidence aside from her claimed anecdotal experience.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

or negotiate it into her compensation

20 bucks says she pays someone else to do her negotiating for her anyway

[–][deleted] 13 points14 points15 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Poor rich women.

[–]Trigunesq 4 points5 points6 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Gotta get a piece of that opression pie somehow

[–]javi404 7 points8 points9 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Hollywood's pay gap..

I stopped reading right fucking there. This isn't some fucking desk job she is complaining about.

[–]ThePigmanAgain 7 points8 points9 points 11 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

That's a new one -- a rich black woman whining. Also, i find it hard to believe the big female stars don't also get yachts and jets. She probably doesn't, but that's because i've never fucking heard of her.

[–]Qui-Gon_Booze 3 points4 points5 points 11 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

She played Neytiri in Avatar and Uhura in the new Star Trek movies. She may be unlikable IRL, but on-screen she's one of my favorite actresses.

[–]ThePigmanAgain 5 points6 points7 points 11 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I couldn't get through the first twenty minutes of Avatar -- and that's despite my favorite color being blue. Couldn't get through the shit Trek reboot, either. Uncharismatic actors playing it straight while some UK comedian plays it for laughs. Yeech. But basically, she isn't a big star. Not exactly Angelina Jolie, who, i would wager, can get studios to pay for her nannies.

[–]Qui-Gon_Booze 3 points4 points5 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I loved all of those movies. ; -;

[–]ThePigmanAgain 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

No accounting for taste, i guess.

[–]SweetiePieJonas 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

some UK comedian

easy now

[–]PowerWisdomCourage 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, statements like that bring one's credibility into question, and I am not being sarcastic in the least.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Don't forget her role in guardians of the galaxy.

[+][deleted] -8 points-7 points-6 points 11 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

That's okay. There are people out there who are cut off from everything just like you.

[–]ThePigmanAgain 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Right, not paying attention to every cultural product that comes along means i'm cut off from everything. You are an idiot.

[+][deleted] -6 points-5 points-4 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Thank you. Quick question: do you know who like, Channing Tatum is? Just throwing a name out there.

[–]ThePigmanAgain 3 points4 points5 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

One of the dickheads in the Jumpstreet movies, i believe. And how can you compare a headliner to a co-starring type like her? You are, indeed, an idiot.

[–][deleted] -5 points-4 points-3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Thank you. Do you know the roles she's been in?

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Feminism's number one preoccupations in the last months, from what I read, have been remuneration for Hollywood actresses, and taxpayer funded tampons. Oh, and that the hijab is an expression of feminist liberation.

Oppression is a serious business.

[–]garglemesh42 6 points7 points8 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Oh, and the way that men sit on public transportation!

[–]AliasSigma 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Wait, the Hollywood pay gap? Isn't J Law supposed to make more than Pratt? Yes, we should fix this pay gap and help male actors make more. Oh, wait, does she mean the non existent one for women? Or should we just throw the whole Fucking idea out because they all make more in a movie than an average person will in years?

[–]Qui-Gon_Booze 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

in years

A man I know had his arm ripped off in a machine at work. The company that he worked for fired him because he needs both arms to do his job.

Congratulations on your pregnancy.

[–]Ultramegasaurus 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

She also forgets that these male stars often have wives, girlfriends or concurbines who enjoy their Yachts and Jets as well. Rich men actually share their money and status with women, the reverse not nearly as much.
