As i see it, God is far too big an asshole to not be a female. After all, women commit most of the child abuse, and if the way god treats the human race isn't child abuse, then what the fuck is it? Her son, on the other hand, was a decent bloke and i would violently oppose any attempt to portray him as some sort of feminist bitch.

Much of the Old Testament seems to have been borrowed from Mesopotamian goddess cultures and with a systematic removal of references to female deities who are then referred to as "the Great Abomination" or some such. So, to a large extent God has already been transitioned in the female to male direction anyhow.

Given that the whole God complex is a projection of the infant view of his parents into adult life, and that large numbers of children are being raised without male adult presence, a resurgence of goddess religion (whether this be mother-worshipping versions of Christianity such as Catholicism or other) is to be expected.
