Umm...maybe I am missing something here, but I am not seeing anything about the father having lost his rights to the child (besides in the obvious manner of no more child). I did see where the mother took off with the child without telling the father though.

This kind of thing terrified me. My ex was abusive physically to our son and the courts gave her primary custody. Nothing worse than watching someone slap the hell out of a one year old for dropping his sippy cup out of the highchair.
