Why men won't get married anymore: Women complain chaps today won't settle down. Sorry, ladies, but it's all your fault, argues a wickedly provocative new book.

The end of marriage is the end of civilization And feminism is killing both: What exactly does marriage offer men today? “Men know there’s a good chance they’ll lose their friends, their respect, their space, their sex life, their money and — if it all goes wrong — their family,”

Exactly .. Do your job as a teacher and leave the kids alone.

It is truly disgusting that the feminist slanted system refuses to treat men & women as equals under the law when it comes to the law. Let females / teachers off easy and give males / teachers stiffer sentences. I think they both should get stiff sentences. They are their to do a job .. Teach. Just because these teachers might not be happy in their lives, (marriages / whatever) doesn't give them a pass to use, molest children / students.

If it wasn't for the pussy-pass more females would be hit with real sentences, instead of the usual - tap on the wrist.

Or rape?

Children can't freely consent to sex with adults in a position of power over them. Sex without valid consent is rape.

That lady hit the nail on the head.

Didn't know such an organization existed. Glad to see that it does, however. And I appreciate its president taking the time to raise awareness for this issue. Definitely an organization I'd consider looking more into and supporting in the future.

Coercion is coercion. The best person to tell you about it is the student. Nobody ever asks them, just tells.

This feminist idea that we can just ignore the facts of individual cases because it's more fun to bully people is not good for MRM. It will seep over into other areas.

This is a nice attempt to redefine topics. Not the teacher/student bit, but saying 'sexual coercion' as if it is automatically bad.

Why is sexual coercion automatically bad? If I tell a SO that the sex needs to improve or I'm bailing on the relationship, that is reasonable coercion. Much the same as my boss paying me to work coerces me to do work that I would have never otherwise done.

[–]jonnytechno 7 points8 points9 points 11 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

I think the issue here is coercing a minor, there is and should be a big difference imo

[–]rg57 -1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

The title plainly says "student", not "minor".

[–]jonnytechno 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Wasn't the student a minor at the time of the incident

[–][deleted] -3 points-2 points-1 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Why does a minor always have to be "coerced" into having sexual relationships with someone who is several years older than them? Why can't people accept that that is something the minor could actually want?

[–]jonnytechno 4 points5 points6 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Because despite what the minor wants the adult should know better, irrespective of gender & that's true gender equality

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points0 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Great lets continue to criminalize more victimless crimes. Because that worked so well with marijuana xD

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (32 children) | Copy Link

Threatening your partner to get him/her to have sex with you is rape.

[–]scdi 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (31 children) | Copy Link

Even a threat of breaking up from lack of sex? Go back to SRS.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (30 children) | Copy Link

You are obfuscating the issue. If you tell your girl that you are unhappy she can choose to fuck you more often or not. But if you want to guilt her into fucking you for your own pleasure than thats wrong.

Just leave her and find someone else to fuck, you dont have to manipulate her to get sex. Also Whats SRS? Is that your favorite subreddit? I bet thats where you get the majority of your ideas about the world from isnt it?

[–]scdi -2 points-1 points0 points 11 years ago (29 children) | Copy Link

But if you want to guilt her into fucking you for your own pleasure than thats wrong.

Wrong as in 'I unscrewed the salt shaker for a prank' or wrong as in 'that was rape'?

Just leave her and find someone else to fuck, you dont have to manipulate her to get sex.

It isn't manipulation. Also, leaving because there is a problem with the relationship instead of communicating and stating how big of a problem it is (big enough that you are willing to end the relationship if not fixed) is a sign of immaturity. Immediately leaving a relationship at the first sign of a problem is only acceptable for some really major issues like the other partner using physical violence or being sexually inappropriate with your child (if you have one).

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago (28 children) | Copy Link

Your ability to rationalize is astounding. I bet things in your head are so twisted that even you cannot navigate it with ease. How many words will you bastardize the definition of? Every single one you have to to maintain you incredibly inconsistent world view.

Please rationalize further, it will only cause you more suffering.

[–]scdi -1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago (27 children) | Copy Link

Accusing me of bastardizing words when you are the one to redefine rape to anything that hurts your feelz? Feminist tactic #982.

Not very creative are we? It's okay I believe in you! Show me your depth of understanding by explaining how coerced sex is not sexual assault or rape. Trolololololol.

[–]dungone 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

And what does the student need from the teacher that requires him to provide her with sex in exchange?

[–]scdi -1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

As I said, I wasn't even talking about the teacher/student bit of this.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago* (6 children) | Copy Link

You're using a pretty loose definition of coercion. It isn't analogous to convincing. Coercion implies abuse of authority or serious threats, such as violence or blackmail - the underlying theme is forcing somebody to do something against their will. Doing something you find unpleasant because the consequences are bad is not always coercion.

You can quit your job. The consequences will probably suck. You might starve, and you might lose your home, but your boss has no control over those factors, which is why he is not coercing you (many employers use this little fact to their advantage, but that's another topic.)

You can tell your SO you're leaving if she continues to withhold sex. She might decide to sleep with you even though she doesn't really want to rather than you leaving her, but that's also not coercion. You leaving her is not exactly an injurious thing for her. It's not use of authority, because you have no authority over her.

Teacher-student sex is coercion because teachers are given a large degree of legal authority over students.

Just for reference, not all coercion is illegal. If you think you obey laws and pay taxes voluntarily, realize what happens if you resist long enough.

[–]rg57 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Coercion implies abuse of authority

Not when feminists use the word, and these days, they're in charge of that word.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

You can quit your job. The consequences will probably suck. You might starve, and you might lose your home, but your boss has no control over those factors, which is why he is not coercing you

I agree with most of what you're saying, however, this isn't always true. It depends on the reason you choose to quit. This sounds like a very libertarian argument to me and most Libertarians really just want to redefine coercion.

Let's say your boss says "kneel down and lick my boots, or you're fired" most libertarians will say that's not coercion because it's a voluntary contract between two adults.

Meanwhile, if you sue your boss for this and the courts say, "no asshole; you're not allowed to demand that from your employees. That's an unconscionable contract. You must make amends by paying damages." then the libertarians will define that as coercion.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago* (3 children) | Copy Link

In your example, I believe that would be abuse of authority, akin to your boss demanding sexual favors.

Yes, the state enforces laws with coercion. More than just Libertarians would define it that way, because coercion is effectively the root of all laws. This is arguably why the 2nd amendment exists in the United States; a method by which citizens can use coercion against the government.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

It's still coercion because they're using your job to force you to do something you don't want to do. That's literally the definition of coercion.

Many people would say it's not because "you can just quit", which is similar to what you were saying in your post. So I just wanted to clarify that it's actually still coercion, unless you're a Libertarian and you want to re-define the word.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Maybe you misunderstood me, but I was saying it's coercion by means of abusing authority.

If your boss was telling you to work overtime and you didn't want to, I would indeed say "then quit".

"Lick my boots or else" is just illegal.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Ah yes, it sounds like we're on the same page then. Sorry I made assumptions, your original argument just sounded an awful lot like arguments I've heard from staunch Libertarians who don't seem to find any fault with anarcho-capitalism.
