Another incredible gender discrimination move by Daniel Andrews and the Australian Labor Party. It appears that having 80% women on boards is fine. This is also for law courts as well. How can this gender discrimination be legal? Perhaps 100 men apply, and 20 women apply for 15 positions. It means the men applying will have a 7% chance of getting the job, and the women 40% chance of getting the job. Shouldn't the best and most qualified person get the job, why does the genitals of the person matter so much. Why is there so much discrimination against men in our society? And why are we always told women are discriminated against? (I know the answer to these questions :-) )

Women make up 80% of the workforce in the health and social care industry, but have fewer than 25% of the board positions on Melbourne Health.

Looks like we need some male qoutas to get that figure back to 50/50 right?

The Victorian premier, Daniel Andrews, said women’s perspectives were needed on more Victorian boards.

I work in a field where women greatly outnumber men and so consequently I have had a lot of women colleagues over the last 20 years.

In that time, I have worked with absolutely brilliant women, hopelessly incompetent women, bitchy women, loyal and supportive women, bullying women, pompous, officious and bureaucratic women, intelligent and intuitive women and … etc.

What I have never come across once, not even once, is any evidence whatsoever to confirm that there is such a thing as a 'woman's perspective' that only women can deliver to a project. Not a whiff, not a trace not one iota of a suggestion that there is any uniquely female quality to their working practices without which the whole project / organisation is suffering.

The very notion that men lack the capacity for imagination and altruism to consider the needs of their daughters, wives / partners, sisters, mothers and their women friends is deeply sexist. Likewise, does this mean that Andrews considers men to have a uniquely male perspective that no woman has the imagination to access?

If for a moment I was to assume that what Andrews is saying was correct, then the proper conclusion would surely be that the ideal society would be one that was segregated into male and female, each with their own set of services, gyms, colleges, restaurants, bars, organisations etc. etc.

What an ass.

Seems like they need more men. Obviously since men and women think entirely differently they'd benefit from some male perspective.

“What I’ve announced today will mean that by the end of 2018, no director of an ASX 200 company will be able to look me in the eye and tell me there aren’t enough women in our state who are qualified to join them,” Andrews said.

When will you be stepping down so a genetically superior woman can take your place?
