I think that although the society I live in isn't some sort of Dystopian, nightmarish rape-dominated world, I think there is a huge culture of blaming victims, not taking rape seriously when reported (and this happens to both men and women), casual rape jokes and people going "he/she deserves to get raped in prison" etc.

I've heard Men'sRights supporters (the self-identified group, as opposed to the phenomenon of men having rights) deny the existence of a "rape culture" in Western society, but I've also heard an equal number of MR supporters talk about the huge issue of male rape, particularly in the army and prison etc. To admit that rape happens far too much, and that we don't take it seriously enough, implies there is a rape culture hanging over us. But is rape culture only a thing when it happens to men, or is rape culture something that exists across all genders?

I'm sure many of you might say "there is a rape culture , but feminists have made it all about women as the victims", but I'm asking about what YOU believe.

If you do think that rape is a huge cultural problem, could the MR movement not agree with the non-gynocentric wings of the feminist and LGBT movements and work together on this issue?
