Okay but let's be real here. You're in a room, with security near by, hundreds of people within 20 feet and someone comes in a spends 20 minutes working their way up to sexually assaulting you. They have no weapon, they are physically inferior to you and they have no power over you. It seems a little crazy to think that someone could cause you to go into shock in this scenario. Especially given the fact that he had already had hundreds of people violate his personal space up to this point, and he's quite a powerful person compared to the average guy in society. I have difficulty believing (although I would agree it's not impossible) that he was frozen with shock.

Again, that could be the case, but it seems like if ever there were a scenario where that should be nearly impossible it's this one.

It doesn't matter if it "could have been prevented" or if "he could have called for help".

It depends on what you mean by "could". I'd agree if we're talking 'woulda coulda shoulda' and in reality, for whatever reason, he felt he was unable to stop what was happening. In that case, I am completely on your side.

However if we mean "could" literally, and he didn't solely for the sake of the art project, then I completely disagree. If you let yourself be raped because you don't want to compromise the rules of your art project, then you're an idiot. Not that you deserve rape, but you don't deserve much sympathy either. Based on the scant details Shia provided, this hypothetical is a possibility.

Now I'm not saying that happened, I don't know, and Shia hasn't said enough for anyone to know whether or not that's what happened. I would certainly hope the latter scenario was not what actually happened.

All those here who say it is his fault because he didn't stop the crime from continuing are incredibly stupid.

There is more to this than you're presenting. In some cases, yes, people are saying "why didn't he just shove her off of him" and that's an unfair question if in fact there are mitigating circumstances that prevented him from doing that.

However, and I've said this in other threads, if he was only staying silent and being non-reactive so as to not break the rules of his own art project, he may be a victim, but not one that deserves a great deal of sympathy. If in fact you do have the power to stop your own victimization and you choose not to for silly reasons like the integrity of an art project, you're an idiot. It doesn't mean you deserve unwanted sexual advances or touching, but certainly we can't discuss this in the same way we would discuss any other case where the victim was unable to prevent what happened, which is most of the time.
