not okay for women to be attracted to "status" characteristics in men?

It is totally okay for women to be attracted to anything at all that they want.

What we talk about around here is simply that women claim otherwise. The thread you link to, about the doctor, is an example of a bunch of women denying that they're attracted to status and money.

It was amusing to us. That's all. We didn't say, "grrr, women! You should be attracted to plumbers!"

we aren't mad at women for liking what they like. many of us benefit directly from it! I've held these kinds of attitudes toward women well before i found reddit, and its work wonders. what we are doing is showing real world examples of our ideology in action. this is one of the few places where we can look at social issues without the PC crap.

Everyone else has already pointed out that /trp/ understands thats part of women's attraction towards men and we don't hold it against them. Just laugh when they won't admit it.

But what does bother us is when a woman gives you a false impression that she's sexually/physically attracted to you because she wants to marry you or use you as a beta provider, when she's really not feeling all that passionate or attracted (physically, sexually, the "spark", etc.)

Then five years later she might realize she fucked up marrying someone she wasn't actually attracted to and then her options are to start fucking the pool boy or divorce you (and potentially take a lot of your money).

I'm a well-off guy, but I don't want a woman who's not physically or sexually attracted to me beyond my job, social status, and lifestyle. And there's a real danger that a woman will play up her physical attraction toawrds me because she believes its worth sacrificing her personal happiness in that aspect because of the monetary benefits of being with me (or the stability, or whatever else).

Luckily I know what it looks like when I'm capable of turning a woman on and know what it looks like when a woman is truly attracted to me, so I can largely avoid people who don't feel passionate about me. And older women are far more likely to sacrifice physical attraction for money/status/lifestyle. Luckily I mostly go after early-20s women. If they think I'm too short, I know immediately haha. Which is fine, and how it should be (although some of them are pretty cunty and inhuman in the way they reject guys they aren't attracted to)

But for guys out there who don't have that experience, they're in a minefield. I have engineer buddies that have never had long-term girlfriends just because they're awkward or not super attractive or don't meet a lot of women. There's a decent chance they'll meet a 29 year old woman at a sports bar and not realize she's only slightly interested in them. But she won't have any better options so she'll settle for him.

And trust me, you don't want either party to settle for someone they're not attracted to. It causes problems for everyone.

Now with physical attraction for guys, even if we're only attracted to a girl for her looks, it doesn't mean five years later after marrying her we're gonna want out. It's possible that will happen, but it's a lot more likely a girl will marry a boring doctor then five years later realize she misses being banged by guys who know how to spin her wheels.

Does that make sense at all? These sorts of risks seem to be much more common for men than for women. Women initiate 66-72% of all divorces, and the top reasons cited by divorcers are financial, infidelity, and sexual dysfunction / lack of sexual attraction or relationships.

No problems with it. I think the problem some here have is the double standard advice of "be yourself" and other crap women give in places like r/askwomen, r/relationships, etc.

Be careful of status though. Money by itself isn't status. A short while back, there was a link to a 32 yo virgin doctor who was taking a prostitue to get laid because women weren't attracted to him. He'll just attract of post-wall gold diggers eventually if he doesn't wise up.

My responses are limited. You must ask the right questions.

The right question is why is it even a topic of discussion. Guys are told to be themselves only to find out that isn't good enough. It becomes the topic of discussion for those that become aware that being themselves isn't good enough after doing it and not being rewarded for it. Nobody likes being lied to.

It's an emotionally charged issue, so obviously you'll hear a guys complaining about it. One is no more wrong nor right than the other.

I don't even think it's completely true that women are attracted to "status" characteristics in men. It's a bit more complicated than that. If it were true though, I wouldn't even mind, as it would simplify a lot of things.

Am I the only one who has no problem with the way female attraction works? Or am I just one of the "blue pill examples"?

Probably not. You actually sound like most people here. You have an assumption about how female attraction works and want to talk about it. It's nice to talk about things without being shut up once in a while, even if you don't completely agree with others.
