Yeah most people don't care about these issues of equality until it personally hits them or someone close to them. Feminists by overtly attacking large groups of men in recent years are really ramping up the number of people who are exposed to their hate by personal experience. Not just the men but their female relatives or friends too.

Now at the moment they don't really know what to do with the information because it seems such a shock to them. They've been raised to see feminists as the good guys and now they're getting smacked in the face by them. Some are in denial (saying it's not about feminism), some are making excuses for the feminists, or saying these people who attacked me are an aberration, or so shocked all they can do is defend themselves. They don't know the context so they don't know how normal this is for feminists, and how the feminists have pulled the same attacks on many other mostly male groups.

So they need educating, and hopefully that will happen, but even if it doesn't they are sensitized now. So they'll begin to see more and more examples of feminist hate. They'll begin to piece it together.

I think it was stupid to pick a fight with gamers. They chose a demographic of mostly politically apathetic men and a smaller but still significant number of politically apathetic women and started attacking all of them. Now a large portion of people who were previously sitting idle on the sidelines are seeing feminism for what it truly is and are fighting back.

I just heard a interview on the BBC. They interviews 2 women who had been attacked. They framed it as an attempt to drive women out of the tech industry disguised as a concern for journalistic integrity.

They did not interview a single peson on the other side.

The death threats did sound bad but i sat there wondering how it proves that gamergate is a misogynist movement to keep women out of tech.

When a man is attacked no one calls it misandry. When a woman is attacked there is a national crisis of sexism against women and there are calls for more "education" (indoctrination) of school children and more discussion (you shutup while I talk) to tackle the hatred of women.

Then the BBC suggested we need more feminism to deal with these issues.

Lets be clear, it is the Left wing. You guys will never own up to it yet your surprised when your newspapers attack mens rights and lie about feminist issues and constantly put down men and accuse them of being potential rapists. You're surprised because the BBC/ MBNC/ CNN are usually "correct" (they agree with you) But how can they get these other issues so wrong? It's because they were never right, they were always bias, always pushing their ideologies. This is a Left wing problem and you need to start facing up to that.

AGG is definitely doing that, but I'll have to admit that the pro-GG feminists are actually changing my mind about it. GamerGate has been consistently pushing that it's about ethics in journalism and hasn't responded much to the complaints about misogyny (except with NotYourShield). But we've got feminists like Jennie Bharaj actively calling out the fact that the men of GamerGate are being ignored and only the women are listened to.

It still shows that feminists and women only care about issues affecting men when it's something that affects them personally. Jennie wouldn't have noticed that if it didn't affect something she cared about (games), but it's better late than never.

Are you suggesting the media or Anita are making up the threats she's receiving? As MRA, should we not be concerned and completely distance ourselves from men who actively hurt the cause? Should we not be critical of Anita based on the content of her statements, and not based on the fact she is doing it all. It would seem a true MRA reaction should be to condemn those that are threatening her, stand up for her rights to publish, and to critique games, then to rationally argue why she is incorrect, and work for the hobby to be inclusive, not exclusive.
