I'm on a detox ward for alcohol, getting sober for good.

Anyway, I noticed this and felt compelled to share. I've seen this trend in a lot on NHS materials (it has long been institutionally feminist), but this notice board is so dense and clear in it's message I'm pretty pissed off by it.

Its a high res camera, zoom in and you can read most of the text (Didnt have time to focus). ALL of these materials are information for women suffering domestic abuse by men. There is no equivelent on the ward for men. Most of these materials even go out of their way to specify how males are the abusers.

I dont have a problem with info on how to deal with domestic abuse, the problem is how its gender specific. Especially when you consider domestic abuse of men by women is such a huge issue.

In addition, there is a male only lounge and a female only lounge, along with an all gender lounge. The male only lounge has 4 chairs and a tiny wall mounted TV. That is it. The female only lounge has 6 chairs, a couch a table, a large TV and a Mirror.

There are 11 men and 4 women on the ward atm.
