I think this is the worst comment in the whole thread:

"That I don't really care.

It's not that I think everyone should be like me. But there are people out there who didn't report it because they just don't really give a shit"

I can only IMAGINE the amount of downvotes and accusations of being a rape apologist he's get if he'd have made that comment in a /r/TwoXChromosomes thread of the same ilk....yet right now he has 117 upvotes to 28 downvotes.

I've seen a few of these sorts of threads popping up on the default subs. I just assumed that all the responses, upvotes and positive replies was basically just /r/mensrights leaking. It's a nice thought to think that it may not be that, and the upvotes and comments are actually the reddit community is general responding.

I'm sure a lot of the victims would be sick if they knew their experience would only be counted as a sexual assault statistic and not a rape statistic according to the FBI database and other agency's.

I was super happy to see this on AskReddit, and despite there being some negative comments, the most upvoted ones were in support of these victims. There was overall a very positive message. Usually AskReddit tends to be, in my opinion, on the wrong side of these issues. I'm glad to see this might be changing.

I have an acquaintance was raped at a party. He doesn't remember anything. Dude got an STD too. I don't think he has ever done anything.

That thread made me extremely upset. I have always known it can happen to men, and i could imagine how most situations happened but reading their personal stories and seeing the responses they got really made me feel sick
