A lot of it just comes down to autism. I’d wager a good chunk of those involved in the pill sphere are on the spectrum. I’m autistic myself and it seems pretty clear to me. Those on the spectrum tend to have very analytical thinking that seeks to find logic and reason within observed patterns. Just about everything in the pill sphere comes down to observation and statistics. Being on the spectrum can also cause very stilted speech and social unawareness, which comes across on a lot of posts here.

Then there’s the loneliness factor. Prolonged loneliness causes a build up of bitterness and resentment that some struggle with managing. It doesn’t help that the lonely and depressed are often treated in a very patronizing and demeaning way (“get over your problems”, “life isn’t fair”, “do better”, “just take a shower and touch grass”). It adds vitriol without actually generating discussion.

Yeah all of these pill debate boards are toxic as fuck, at best you're wasting time, at worst you're completely warping your worldview and slowly destroying your mental health. Reminder to everyone reading this to touch grass regularly, real life is much different to what you read on here.
