STBX hired a lawyer, I didn't, and recently got a drastic custody order severely alienating the two extremely young kids, 1 and 3, which I almost entirely cared for pre split.

after she *got arrested for domestic violence against me* soon after hiring a lawyer, I thought it was in the bag and was nice but then they just made up a vengeance plan ("S3's eczema gets worse under my care") and snuck it in at a hearing when i was totally not expecting it

I have already messed up my case by doing stupid filings trying to terminate the temporary order, and all the lawyer consults say just wait for the trial at the end of february. during the 36 hours i get with my kids twice a month now, I can see they are absolutely miserable. She does not even like kids and puts them in daycare up to 10 hours a day. She just wants them away from me to get me to get another job to make more money (already make more than her but have flexibility to do full-time care) and because she weaponized them for vengeance against me calling the police and getting her arrested (she beat me for years).

So my question is: Do temporary orders pre-trial really stick like the websites make it sound? Obviously, she will go for "well every other weekend cleared up the eczema, so guess it has to be permanent" at trial, whereas I should be getting full custody based on just the domestic violence and that fact that I have the time to do care all day every day whereas she works a ton.
