I have been struggling with my 16 yr old son regarding rules at my house vs my ex-wife. Have been divorced for 2 1/2 years and have ve 50/50 custody. The kids switch houses every week. Her rules are more relaxed. For example we agreed that it's a 9 curfew on a school days. To me 9, is you are home and getting your stuff ready for the next day. My ex allows him to bring his girlfriend over until after 10 then drive her home after that. That doesn't fly at my house so now he throws out, well I will just stay at moms.

I wouldn't have an issue with allowing him more time but he lies about school work and is getting low grades. He also put about 100 miles on his truck most days driving around with her. When I bring up the issue to my ex her response is "it's my house".

I feel it's a no win situation.
