We were married 6 and a half years ago. The beginning of the marriage was rocky. After 2 years, it was on life support. 6 months later, I moved out. I was manipulated to go back based on promises and what's best for our daughter. Paid for 2 apartments for 6 months. Problems again. More promises and we rented a house. 6 months later more problems, and she moved out. Paid for 2 places again for 6 months. More manipulation. Moved in. 8 months and more problems. I moved into my current apartment.

My heart was never into the relationship after moving out the first time. If we didn't have a daughter, we would have been done 5 years ago, but the threats she made about our daughter...

Anyway, divorce was finalized in Feb. And I just turned in the form to the daycare to stop paying childcare for my ex stepchildren. That's the last thing that I had to do to separate my life and finances from her. No joint bank account, no car insurance, car titles. Nothing. I've wished for this day for years and now it's here. I'm doing my best to enjoy it, but I'm weighed down by all the stress.

Over the coming months, I'll be crawling out of my burrow and seeing the sun again. I'm just taking a moment to enjoy the progress I've made separating myself from that parasite.

If you want a divorce and you feel trapped in your marriage, you can do it. It may take some time, but you can make it happen.
