Do you have any lawyer friends? Do you know anybody who has been divorced you can talk to? Have you gotten an attorney?

The lawyer friends and those who've been through it might have tips for you that your paid attorney won't give you. Mine all basically gave me the same advice, which was not to hide the money, because if the judge gets a whiff of it, they'll award her the max.

You're in a less than ideal situation to say the least. That is unless you don't mind paying alimony and child support

I’m in the same boat. Wife is unemployed have two boys, one is about to start kindergarten the other preschool. We’ve been apart for a year and I’ve been living with a friend. I want to move on now (she wanted the divorce) but since she doesn’t work I am forced with the decision to either sell the house and put the uncertainty of a home on my kids or keep paying for the house until she get a job (who knows when that will be). It’s a mess. If we sell now we can make a good amount each for a future down payment. Not sure what to do either
