As someone who relied on this sub throughout my very, very hostile 3 year long netflix docuseries worthy divorce, I feel compared to share a new song I've heard that have lyrics that might help someone here.

Keep digging.

The band is Karnivool, and they have a new album called 'In Verses'. It's prog-metal at its finest. Pure art.

Bare with me, this will make sense.

They have a song on this new album called 'Conversations'. You know... something that is very difficult in your divorce.

Even if you don't like the song itself (boo on you if so, it is amazing), the lyrics are mature, sharp, and obviously written from a place of trauma and conflict. In my case, the endless "Keep digging now" was how I felt in my fight. I kept digging for a way out, every day. Digging for a way to put it all to bed. Sometimes feeling like I was digging my own grave. Sometimes digging a way for hope. Every day single day I kept digging. I never gave up, no matter what.

(there's even another thread where someone is talking about this song and their divorce)

The lyrics are always up for interpretation. But if one person sees this is helped by it, it's worth it.

Conversations

[Verse 1]
Falling apart, so overwhelmed
Hope is a fated point of view
I'm tryna be patient, tired of waitin’ for things to turn around
Thought I was better now
Not walkin' alone, my step is off, keep trippin' up
Still thinkin’ 'bout all of the ways that I fell through
Not showin' up, not big enough
Admittedly all true

[Verse 2]
So I'll place myself in the wings
Where no one can see me
Awaiting the next scene
There, I'll be standin', my head in my hands goin' numb
'Cause I hear a voice I’ve been tryin’ to ignore
It's saying

[Chorus]
"This one could have helped you
Could havе led you anywhere you want
This onе could have held you from the fall to come"
It’s too late for conversation
It's only a mountain I've been tryna move

[Verse 3]
A pardon, a gift, would easily
Help me absolve the weight of this
Nervously contemplatin'
The ruin to follow on
I slowly slip away again
As I hear a fadin’ voice say

[Chorus]
"This one could have helped you
Could have led you anywhere you want
This one could have held you from the fall to come"
It's too late for conversation
It's only a mountain I've been tryna move

[Post-Chorus]
Immovable, it is
Immovable, it is

[Verse 4]
How long have I been starin' at
The mirror behind the door?
So many years reflected back
And so many days I could have been more
No matter where I try to go
There's always a voice that I'll forever know
It's sayin'

[Chorus]
"This one could have helped you
Could have led you anywhere you want
This one could have held you from the fall to come"

[Post-Chorus]
Immovable, it is
Immovable, it is
(Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh)

[Verse 5]
Shadows and figures all around
Movin', but they don't make a sound
Tired of carrying all the dead around
So bury me with them now
I know that you want to

[Outro]
Keep digging now, keep digging
Keep digging now, keep digging
Keep digging now, keep digging
Keep digging now, just keep digging
Keep digging now, keep digging
Keep digging now, keep digging
Keep digging now, keep digging
Keep digging now, just keep digging
Keep digging now, keep digging
Keep digging now, keep digging
Keep digging now, keep digging
Keep digging now, keep digging
Keep digging now, keep digging
Keep digging now, keep digging
Keep digging now, keep digging
