I would like to get some general information about getting a divorce and being disabled.

I broke my back in 3 places about 20 years ago. Have had a few surgeries and will need a future surgery later. When I got a settlement I paid off my home. Since than my wife has been the main bread winner. I get Social security for disability.

What kinda of mess am I getting into? I have read several different things but nothing really helps. I think I am fighting getting a divorce because she took care of me years ago while recovering. For the past several years she had begun drinking heavily and getting really rude with my opinions meaning nothing to her. The worst part is she has started to get close to being violent.
