Check to see if your state has their own equivalent….I used divorcewriter.com and had to redo the stipulation portion because my state requires it be done on their stuff. Sucks because it cost 50 bucks vs the 300 or so I spent at divorce writer

Pay a mediator. They’ll be familiar with all your state’s laws and requirements. It’ll cost more, but you’ll only need to show up in court once.

Write a separation agreement. I have one if you want it. In NC we had to get it notarized. Then a year later my ex went on front of judge and we got a divorce. It was like $150

Edit. NJ seems much the same. The important thing is to put the details in your separation agreement to protect both of your integrity. Possessions, payouts, custody. All the details. Again i have a doc if youd like. PM me your email.

I was divorced 8 years ago w/o kids in NY - I downloaded the paperwork from the NY gov website and divorced for $35 I think. I don’t remember having to go before a judge.

If you are both reasonable, agreeable, and no-conflict then go for it. Split the assets up and get on with it.
