We have 50/50 parenting time, we have joint custody, we have joint decision making in all things including healthcare. It is written in the parenting plan and filed with the court as such. I understand that this is not the typical but that is exactly what is in our plan I negotiated it myself. Our oldest child has congenital health issues and type 1 diabetes. Double coverage is extremely helpful. You think gas is expensive try covering insulin, continuous glucose monitors, insulin pumps etc. Gas is cheap.

I'm in WA state. The parent who's birth date falls first in the calendar year their insurance is primary; oddly not the coverage they have held the longest. My wife works for the very insurance company that our sons are covered under. So even having a guarantor login...she has access to go in and change information keeping me then from logging in.

Has done so for years. Sometimes my bills go to other states.

My work covers my insurance and my dependents. Dual coverage costs us nothing extra and is extremely beneficial to both our sons and both our finances.
