#1 concern: Abuse allegations. This will derail all your plans. Be very careful, record interactions, don't get baited into a fight. One call to the police and you're ruined.

I got falsely accused of a historical rape allegation two months into my 50/50 custody with my kids.....that's all it took for me to lose my kids, get arrested, not see the kids for a year, and spend 2.5 years fighting the false allegations, without her having a shred of evidence. Apparently, her testimony was "evidence".

People do not realize how big false allegations of abuse plays in divorce court. It basically means automatic custody to the mom and exclusive possession of matrimonial home to the wife.

Alimony will be a non-issue then with you both making roughly equal income

we have a good life style, luxury cars, nice villa, etc.

Be prepared to part with approximately 50% of that stuff if you divorce. Personally I would make sure you are maximizing your tax shelters for retirement first, then blow your money.

child support

This is something that you need to prepare for ahead of for divorce if you can. Keep running documentation of what you do for the kids and your involvement (Taking them to the doctor, meeting teachers, etc.) in their lives. Time consuming now but will help if you have a history when it comes to court. Fight for 50/50 custody, give up material property if necessary, but make sure you fight for your kids.

Some of this is also dictated by location. If you live in the US, research your states statutes regarding divorce. Some states are notorious for being more pro-female, while others are a little more progressive. Get a couple consults with a local attorneys to get some idea of the local judges.

You both make the same income You both have 50% custody

There would be no child support and no alimony in this scenario.

You walk away from your kids, things start to shift.

You make plenty of money. If you have to scale back your lifestyle or make other changes, or even play alimony or child support... you make enough. Living a simpler life is better than an extravagant one with the wrong woman.
