Hi, I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this. My Dad (60) rang me today to tell me he's leaving my mum. The arguments have been going on for years, so it wasn't a surprise.

I'm not close to either parent, but I could tell he was upset. They've been married for around 40+ years and apparently my Mum didn't even want to talk and has never bothered with therapy.

My dad said he'll sell and split their property and he'll find somewhere else to live.

Is there anything I can do to help him? I don't have room for him to stay in my flat. I think his main fear is being alone at 60. Is there anything encouraging you wish you had been told during these times?
