After 22 years of rocky marriage (4 kids), filled with divorce threats (by her)verbal abuse and disrespect I finally filed three weeks ago. when the topic had come up in the past, she always said I would never file for divorce, but neither am I going to go get counseling Now the woman who paid me and our two remaining high school kids little to no attention and even left our family for weeks to fix up her second home suddenly rushs back and then succeeds to play the role of perfect wife and attentive mother. All the while blaming me for breaking up the family and giving up on my vows. The same woman when I told her I think that we really need to consider how we can move forward replied by insulting my masculinity and said “to go ahead and file unless I was too cowardly to do it. You’re off work no time like right now. “. And she is telling everyone. Well he filed against me and I never wanted to get divorced. Yet her actions clearly showed otherwise. Now she has been an exemplary wife saying she has no more pride, and even though she thinks I prioritize my job, our kids and my family over her she’s willing to except that fact and move on with me. How long until this charade fades away. This is the change that I was hoping to see in her years ago and now it suddenly appears only after I file for divorce?. Has anyone faced similar “flips“ in their spouse after finally serving them papers. What advice would you give to a sad and confused father of four. How long do I give it? I feel that if I repent and pull back it would get worse than ever.
