Curious.. STBXW may be losing job in a month or so. Fired basically. Put on PIP. If she lost her job.. how does that affect divorce if I haven't filed yet? Can they basically screw me out of a shit ton more money for alimony even though she is capable of working? If she is unable to get a job for a period of time, do I get stuck paying way more.. no fault of my own? If she finds a similar but 1/2 the pay job.. am I screwed because she accepted a lower paying position?

A similar situation could happen to me.. lose my job.. find a lower paying position. Trying to figure out what to do now.

What if I file before she lost her job.. then while going through process.. she lost her job. Perhaps due to stress of dealing with divorce.. she does miserably and gets fired. Will her/her lawyers then come after me for more money.. or if I file first.. it is up to her to find similar pay work since she is capable of making a given amount of money?
