When I was a younger lad; childless, renting, getting career off the ground, I walked home from the bus station and needed something out of my former spouse's and my "shared" vehicle.
The first thing I saw was a pair of heels that can only be described as stripper heels. I dig deeper and find a stripper's outfit. Then at the bottom there was a receipt for a strip club, looked like some kind of cash out slip. The name on the slip was a name my former spouse had floated for a yet to be conceived baby.
I was shocked of course. We had only been married for a year or two. I confronted her and received an elaborate story about how it was her friend's stuff and she just picked her up.
I called my closest lifelong friend to make sense of it. Foolishly, I stayed with my former spouse and grew distant from my friend. Several years later we have a baby and my friend gets married. No he did not reciprocate and make me his best man. Instead, I sat near the back with my former spouse, who unbeknown to me was actively in the middle of a six month affair. In retrospect it was very sad, but I have since completely repaired the friendship.
When I caught her by carefully collecting evidence and not spilling the beans, I got my money right and divorced her. I was a shell of my former self. I went to counseling and church a few times, got buff, and picked up golf. Then good things started to happen. Now I'm living the dream in a fat golf course house.
My ex is in our shitty starter home with some bum who cheated on her and contributes by buying food. The universe works in mysterious ways.
The point of sharing this is that we can tell these youngsters all day long how much trouble their thot gf or wife is, but they won't listen anyway. Sometimes you just have to learn the hard way, overcome, and be better for it.
