Court-ordered mediation is a "tick the box" thing that rarely resolves anything. It comes early in the process so if you're really fighting, it's too hostile to resolve anything. If you're amicable, you don't need it. Useless for custody and visitation. Maybe some property division issues where the mediator can offer up a solution neither lawyer had thought of ... who knows. Go in good faith. Don't expect much. Don't stress it. Don't be afraid to walk out after putting in your good faith efforts.

As for the scheduling, if you get this done and dusted by January - count yourself as the lucky among us.

So to give you guys more context, we don’t have kids. It’s mostly property (and not that much) and spousal support. But it keeps getting pushed back because she took forever to find a lawyer (for the divorce that she wanted lol) and by the time they got squared away the mediator wasn’t available on either one of the earlier days.

Why was your mediation dates pushed back? If it was because the lawyers couldn't be available, ok. But if it was because the STBXW wanted to push it back then you need to say F#ck this and schedule a trial date. As the trial date draws closer she'll be more happy to settle.
