"American men are 8.3X more likely to commit suicide than women post-divorce, and are 2.4X more likely to commit suicide than their married counterparts."
Eight years ago I came very close to being included in that statistic. I was alienated from my daughter, had a huge child support payment due every month, and was flat broke to the point that I sold my couch and dinner table to pay my attorney fees and had to eat dinner sitting on the floor.
It was a dark time. And I saw no way out of it and thought everyone would have been better off if I was dead.
Fast forward to now.
I have sole custody of my daughter, earned my dream job, and am married to a wonderful spouse that helped me get through 10 years of litigation in family court. It took a lot of mental gymnastics to go from that place I was 8 years ago, to building myself back up and regaining a love for life and a sense of my identity as a man and father--all while battling my way through court.
I learned a lot through those 10 years, and my goal is to share those lessons with anyone else going through a divorce or separation, or anyone who is still struggling. Suicide is 100% preventable, but not if we can't support those that need it.
I put the most important lessons in this free email course (seriously, it's free--no upsells or any of that BS) and created a mastermind group so we can support each other on our journey through this. It has already helped over 300+ men, and my goal is to help 1 million.
You can learn more here (or please encourage someone to sign up if you know they are struggling).
(Mods: If this isn't allowed, I apologize and please remove. I didn't see any rules for this sub).

This was from data 1979 to 1989, with the current guidelines for support orders I’d wager that number is even higher now. Stay strong!
