So a bit of a background into my situation. I have been divorced now with joint physical and legal custody. We share parenting time 50/50 with one week on and one week off. My ex decided to move to rural indiana post divorce, which strategically has affected my ability to find a job in my career field (I work in technology ) and to survive on my own and pay the child support and my own expenses. The court decided to make her custodial parent no questions asked, and stick me with all the Maritial debt she racked up and I still owe her child support despite carrying the insurance paying the daycare and pretty much every other expense while having 50/50. So I am at the point where an income hit is not possible for the next 5 to 6 years while I dig myself out of the hole she put me in.

To mitigate this I am able to work remotely while I have my children in a rental home close to where they attend school, and then the weeks I do not have them I travel to Dallas to be on site. This worked fine when I was single.

I am now since re married to the most wonderful woman, but this situation of back and forth is taking a toll on my marriage. In order to maintain my 50/50 and be present 100 percent in the same area it would severely impact my earning capabilities. Does anyone have a similar situation to where their ex moved to an area with really no job opportunities and they had to adapt? Just looking for advice here.
