Ok, so I split with ex 4 months ago. We are in the process of the divorce.
It will probably take few months to finalize (We are in Europe).
We requested court to give me custody of my daughter, as she is already living with me. She sees her mother only on the weekend. She just turned 16 months.
Now, I am hearing from some people that her family found someone new for her, and as soon as divorce will be finalized, they will probably marry ASAP. Now, I don't know if this is true or not.
Problem is he lives in another country, and she will have to move.
I made sure, it is impossible for her to take my daughter away. Court won't let it happen. So I am happy knowing that she will be living with me.
Problem now is, what would I be able to expect regarding Daughter/Mother relationship. Since she is soo young, will she grow up with this dynamic as normal? Do I expect her to resent me in the future? Do I expect her to have a hard time growing up away from her mother? -This is my main issue.
Now, I didn't initiate separation/divorce. It was her and her family teachings. I even made attempts to reconcile like 2 weeks ago, but I was pushed back by her and her mother.
I have proof that I tried saving the marriage while we still were together. I have proof that I even asked her to go out for a coffee, see if there is anyway to reconcile. I have proof that she has been very hard to live with, and I always was the one who tried to make things work. Do I save this proof, in case that when years go by, and my daughter grows up, maybe her mother will lie to her, that it was my fault or anything else. Do I save this proof, in that case to show to my daughter? Or should I just simply delete everything and move on.
As for my feelings, I still feel down, I still think sometimes why the f... she would choose spending her life away from the daughter. I still do miss her sometimes. But I am looking forward. I am actually researching good therapists that I can visit. Maybe its too hard moving on by myself. I try to speak as little as possible to others about my problems, I don't want to seem weak in front of others, so maybe I do need to visit a therapist. I just don't want to rush to find anyone else while I am angry/sad, so I don't make the same mistakes. But, definitely I will be looking forward to move on with my life. I am still young (33 almost), educated, good work, and I want to give my daughter a complete family feeling, if that can feel complete for her. But, I am still not ready, maybe a year, maybe more, whenever I feel OK with the past, no jealousy or anything else, at that moment I will know that I am ready to maybe find someone.
