Once you start to remove the rose colored glasses, stop the delusion of seeing your partner for the construct you have in your mind; and start to actually see them and judge them by their actions; it can be very freeing. In my case, during the separation / divorce the eX showed just how petty, stupid, indictive and lying she could be.
Every time she did something fucked up, it helped open my eyes and kill a little bit of the guilt and self doubt I had. In the end, she tried to black mail about the house sale. And I'm glad that happened. The drama selling out house helped kill my last bit of worry about it or concern. We still sold the house (and I did ultimately have to bribe her to do it). But it was a parting gift; because now she is completely dead to me (I still have healing to do, but I don't care what happens to her at all any more. She got a few thousand dollars more but lost me).
Glad you are waking up to the truth, as much as it might suck. You know what you have to do, so make your plans, work your plans and then execute.

Given that you are likely to battle an ultra feminist system designed to loot you during divorce, you should prepare financially for a while, see if you can get her to sign on legal separation forms by stealth and strike when she is emotionally weak

She agreed to let us each keep our own retirements/pensions, split the house 50/50, and pay off debts jointly. I should be coming out okay from this financially at least.

What she says and what she eventually does are two very different things. Once her lawyer gets in her ear, all verbal deals you might have made will be out the window.

She’s not retaining counsel. We’re using one lawyer.

Huge mistake. How can one lawyer represent both of you, it presents a conflict of interest. I highly suggest you retain your own council, especially if things get adversarial.

He’s my lawyer and we are serving her. My interests are protected. She’s will waive her right to an attorney for the process since we have agreed to everything on our own. Trying to save as much money as possible.

Just be careful. Some judges will not sign off the divorce if they deem the deal to be unfair or one sided, even if you both agreed to it, especially if she’s not got her own legal representation.

Damn okay. Thank you for the heads up.
