Yesterday asked a question for my business partner but feel like it was maybe long winded and didn’t get many responses.

Info:

Florida 14 year marriage

wife is 33, hasn’t worked in 9 years, 4 kids, SAHM

Him: 36 self employed, taxes haven’t been done in 6 years, covers all expenses and is realizing he can’t afford it

Right now he pays for his wife’s therapist and a whole host of new expenses for the children that amount to over 1800 a month. He pays his wife since January when he filed 1600 a month, covers all expenses except gas, and even pays for her therapist(on top of the family therapist for the kids).

He wants to reduce what he’s paying his wife(keep in mind he covers all expenses) and nothing has been ordered from the court. His attorney is telling him she will probably seek temporary relief and that even him having taxes prepared won’t matter when it comes to what is awarded to her.

This makes no sense to me when he explained it as apparently temporary relief is not based on real numbers and my partner can only afford what he’s been paying up until now bc he’s not paying taxes.

How can he reduce the costs and lower the possibility that temporary relief will be forced on him, hurting him more financially than he already is being hurt?
