Therapy/group recommendations

I hear you. I'm so glad therapy helps a lot of people. And meetings with other divorced men. But maybe I'm an outlier, but I get nothing out of it.

Well, I shouldn't say that. I like the points we all relate on. I just think some of us have very unique cases that don't transfer over to a general discussion.

And finding that Good Will Hunting therapist is just not realistic.

That's why I like this sub so much. If you're new, or even old to divorce, this sub is important.

Shawn T. Smith is psychologist who works on men’s issues. He wrote The Tactical Guide to Women and endorses Glover’s book. He has identified that therapy employs women’s modes of communication and other biases within the profession that sometimes don’t serve men so he might have some resources for finding a therapist in your area if you reach out to him.

I would keep reaching out to male therapists as some might host men’s support groups. You might have to do some digging to find what works for you.

Are you lifting heavy weights? Eating good protein and fats? Getting adequate sleep? Increasing your testosterone will help with depression and confidence. Make the squat track your therapist.
