I will always look back on the first 4 years of my marriage as some of the happiest in my life. The last 17 years was absolutely a mistake and I should have divorced my STBX a long time ago.

I'm happy with my divorce a few years in the rear view mirror. I think things turned out pretty much how they should have.

But I was devastated with doubt and confusion for the two years we divorced. There were a lot of ups and downs. But everything pretty much landed on an up.

I regret filing in my first divorce. I wonder if I try hard enough and my three daughters from that went through more than they needed to. I went into naïve thinking that my ex wife and I would still be friends and fantastic coparent. It ended up being a three year long divorce that cost $100,000 in legal fees and damn near drove me to end myself. The cost wasn’t worth the payoff.

On the other hand I wouldn’t have my son from my second marriage. But he’s filed on me in that marriage after going in patient for BPD. She just kind of freaked out one day. Not much to with that

In hindsight, I should’ve filed. I’m glad she chose. I’m glad she wanted to leave. I didn’t want to end it and it was because it was convenient. The norm. Used too. Looking back. I lost me. My worth and tolerated being treated like shit.
